Newb question on a CtA

Okay, so here's me with another one of my stupid questions.

Earlier today, a player was "friendly enough" to give me his whole barb setup, including one CtA Flail with the following stats:
3 /3 /3 on the shouts and a GRIEF PB.

Another player approached me later on, wanting to buy the CTA as "i didnt really needed a 3//3/3" because I was a barb. So following another player's guide on WW barb stating that best equip for me is dual wield GRIEF I am currently contemplating to sell the CTA I have for a second GRIEF + additional items and runes the second player is offering and since I havent been playing for the last 20 or so years I really do not know what to do.

Any ideas are welcome hear on how to approach the trade.

What I am currently missing from the "WW Guide" equipment is:
Helm: GFace or Arreats
Armor: Enigma or Templars might (he said he cannot offer me Enigma at the moment)
Gloves - Laying of Hands or Crafted Blood Gloves (the crafted ones I guess I will be able to get myself)
Belt - Arachnid Mesh or Nosferatu's coil
Boots - I have
Amulet - I have
Rings - I have

So - looking forward to advice.

What I am contemplating is - shall i really stick to the WW barb or migrate to another build and actually need the CTA or shall I approach the trade and what to ask for my CTA?

 

@Intacto Seems like you joined the forum recently, i have no idea if you just joined the server a week ago or if you have been roaming for a longer period of time.
no matter what i would recommend you that you start out with a blizzard sorc, it doesnt matter if you have the gear for the barb or not, its gonna be a pain to farm with a barb without enigma or TM.
if you need any gear or what so ever message me on escorb4r in-game or here on the forum for gear or just the basic items or advice etc.

 

Hey buddy, the whole story is as follows - me and the wifey just decided to start killing some time in the evening when the kid's asleep over a drink - this is how we came up here. Occasionally we'd play some classics like HMOM, MU, etc. so now it was Diablo The wifey is the Sorceress in our Duo. I crated the Barb to tank for her, but as you know women - now I am more left to play alone

I was playing Diablo for like 15ish years ever since I was 5 till I went to Uni so I'm pretty well aware of the game dynamics, it was just 15 years ago that I stopped, apart from that you know that according to each server's set-up and configuration different items are favoured for different builds.

I am far away from the idea that I'll become a pro, so I'm just having fun casually.

The question here is how to have more fun without screwing up all the items that friendly dude already gave me, considering that I'll be playing WW (i want to be able to farm myself some Cows and bosses).

Thank you for the friendly offering but I have been "completely" equipped as of now, I'm just wondering how to tweak things around to get a better item set for WW, as I'd suggest his barbarian was more of a Frenzy one. Some shots of the items I got below.

 

@Intacto sounds like you got an idea of what you want to do, id suggest to look up a WW guide, you have some of the items to be able to start of playing it, if you are missing some items, almost every standard unique item can be found in travincal on this server with the boosted unique droprate, if you do come up short and cant manage to find what you need, dont hesitate to give me a shout.

 

At the moment I'd be thankful if you can just briefly show me how to understand where are those "super chests" everybody is talking about in lower kurast, while the travincal I believe I can farm myself

hey there, if u play barb u need to know that barb CANNOT see more then 3 3 3 cta bcs it's his cap, that's it, other chars see real values =) gl hf

 

This is exactly what my "potential buyer' tried to explain to me, but I still do not get it. The item does have 3/3/3 and I only have one of it, I do not have 2 for 6/6/6/ so what is the point here? I have HOTO flail on the other hand? What is the point with the 3/3/3 cap here?

 

look on your cta with ANOTHER char bro

 

What am i supposed to see? There is absolutely no difference whatsoever :

 

Like TDH mentioned, you should check the CTA with another char - eg: another loader inspecting your equipment:


As you can see, when I look at your inventory I see 6/6/4. Your barb sees 3/3/3 because of technical reasons.

 

LOL, and I went in to browse my goods with another barb... good for me :X Would that mean now, that the fullest capacity of a CTA I can use really IS 3/3/3 and it is pointless to hold the 6/6/4 ?

the thing that happens when someone did an obvious mistake and the rest of people are trying to show him that in an unfriendly manner

 

everyone do mistakes, we are not here to judge, but important thing is if u understand and learn a lesson =)

 

Well honestly at the moment I cannot see a mistake - I have dual wield on Grief, I have a CtA which I can use and is not overkill and I also have Enigma, which significantly eases my life for the moment.
