    Howdy,

Need some help with this one. I can play the game for a few minutes no problems. Pretty much when I go into a new game afte about 20 seconds the game will freeze. I can however minimize the game and I see an error message saying:

    HALT
    Location: , line#215
    Expression: Unrecoverable internal error 6f88f92c

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this? I have to shut the game down to go back in for it to work.

So turning off the in game music means I can play for 30mins instead of 3 before it crashes. Any idea what might be causing it and how to further mitigate the problem?

Run in windowed mode (add -w switch to target shortcut) or do a fresh install.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

as xaltotun said, a fresh install could do the job. You most likely played on a different server with customized sound/video/gameplay patch and the game crashes when it cannot recreate the sounds or gameplay it was set to do. Like you played on a server where Rakanishu would look like, i dont know, baal for example. If you still have that video patch of the game when you go to rakanishu instead of seeing him as Blizzard made him, the game tries to show him as the patch on your computer is trying to. And it crashes... This is just a random example but i also think that a fresh install would fix your problem. And make sure you install THIS SERVER'S PATCH!

i kept thinking about your problem and a question popped in my head : Do you still get crashed if you dont use maphack? I remember i got similar crashes because of a bad maphack when it would try to discover map.

Diablo glitches in full screen mode on windows 7, I always play in windows mode, with the loader and stings maphack provided by this server. Sometimes the game will crash using auto-tele, if it hangs up in certain map areas (ie:Act 2)

Don't give up hope, there's probably just a typo mistake in your shortcut. "C:\Users\****\Desktop\Diablo 2\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -w That's what mine looks like ( as i'm fairly sure you may have placed the -w inside the brackets ). Also you may need DPE turned on, that seems to resolve a few crash issues too. Msg me in game *brewmeister, I'm sure we'll find the solution.
