Ladder

I doubt anyone would share this idea of yours but good luck.

 

Splitting into two servers with the same concept would do nothing good for sure. And we do have ladder resets here, the current one has about 1.5 years but resetting ladder during summer or at the end of it isn't a good idea.
We shall announce a couple weeks before doing a ladder reset (it will happen at some point, we won't keep it for years and years for sure), it's just that there is no ETA yet so you are safe to play.

 

You already made a thread about that, @AnioŁ and it was explained there. Yes ladder resets are required but not too often and not too rare either considering that ladder resets work different on private servers than they work on bnet. Also, they are definetly not one of the main reasons just as this game is not so playable either (it's quite the contrary as often ladder resets will push people away and I've seen plenty of ghost towns out there because of that). We are not talking about a popular game nowdays, we are talking about an old game that barely survives thanks to a few private servers that are still out there.

There will always be people that get bored fast and people that will actually never want a ladder reset, but I can assure you any discussion regarding that will make people get agitated and will spread false and stupid rumours as we are talking about an online game. Ladders resets are triggered by some important aspects and so far we're definetly in a good standing. Just because some of you out there got bored it doesn't mean we have to ignore everyone else and listen to you. We'll definetly have a fresh start at some point and we will announced it when it comes but there is no ETA on that yet. I already mentioned that in my previous posts and just posting "oh I agree with a wipe" it won't change my mind. Our current ladder has almost 1.5 years and is not much considering the ammount of players online we got. Not so often ladder resets is also a main reason of our popularity.

Keep in mind that bnet (official server) resets their ladder every 6-12 months (don't forget that you are playing with 99% bos on bnet) but that's different as during a ladder reset all characters are moved to non-ladder while on private servers a ladder reset means a total wipe of all characters so all characters are deleted and not moved to non-ladder. When it comes to a private server ladder reset, I guess around the average of 2 years should be perfect.

 

That won't work on a private server. It did worked on bnet because they are the company who created this game and years ago they had tens of thounds online so non-ladder and ladder were ultra populated anyway. Private servers are a different story and people will either play ladder or nonladder depending on which one has the most players so it's basically the same thing.
