-No healing / rejuv / antidote / thawing potions, you can use as many mana potions as you wish, unless you are using Energy Shield because that would be a highly unfair advantage; the "Warmth" skill will make up for this loss of mana pots.


Can someone please explain this sentence to me?

Does it mean that ES sorc can't use mana pots or that there is limited amount of mana allowed to ES sorc ?

 

Ok,well as far as I have seen,and this is going back to BNET days,as well as on this server,it IS bad manners to use healing potions,but it is fine to use Mana pots,the reason being because a lot of characters would be at a big disadvantage without them.as far as using thawing,and antidotes,I t isn't really BM to use those either. (especially since ANY kind of poison is considered BM in Duels).

 

Replace the word unless and substitute it with except.

It says, you may drink all the mana pots you want, except if you use energy shield.

Doesn't say you can use any according to the rule. If you could use a certain amount, it would say so.

 

Endotoxin, I think that unless and except are similar words, but the meaning behind them I a little bit different. I personally think that it means that there is some limited amount of mana potions allowed for ES sorc.

 

I understand your point of view and can definitely see how you can interpret it that way.

The rule says everyone can drink as many as they want unless you use energy shield. It is worded terribly.
This can either mean none or just not as many

Personally, I feel if he wanted to say you can only drink a certain amount, that it would say that.

You're right, it's not your fault it's worded badly, but considering the whole situation as a whole and my limited power, I have decided not to judge any more duel bets. Do so at your own risk.

 

Okay, but before that can you at least fix your mistake, after all you were the judge during the duel. Don't you think it's a bit disrespectful towards me? I won the duel, I didn't violated the rules in any way, yet my reward is not paid despite the fact that I did what Gix told me(call an admin to be the judge).

 

Being as I interpret the rules one way and you the other does not mean I made a mistake. I simply said I can't judge this and left. I didn't say you won or lost. In our conversation you implied you used mana pots so by my interpretation of the rules, you are disqualified.

 

it is a bad manner to use mana potions for 95%es sorc
but i bealive if u r about 75-80%es, it is ok
but "rules" here says NO mana potions for any es sorc

 

If the rules doesn't say specifically that I can't use mana(btw I'm 70% es), how come you are enforcing your, not declared, rule based on personal judgement ?

 

I didn't enforce it. If I was to enforce it, I would've disqualified you and made you pay the bet.
