    Backstory -

When I first started, I had a few people help me out, and to repay the kindness that was shown me when I started, I decided to do magic find runs for others.

To pay it forward, I made a (NORMAL) game with a mule character and did magic find runs on my sorceress in Hell. Every time I would finish, I would go back to the game (in this case the name of the game was "free for you") and drop whatever I found.

Well, I had done this previously, and it was pretty helpful then...

The reason for my post -

This time, however, I had people coming into the game with their 90+ level characters, asking "Are there going to be any REAL drops?".

So I responded, while barely making it through another run in the other screen, "This game was made for low level characters who aren't able to do magic find runs themselves, if you are able to do them, please leave the items I drop for others."

At that point, a few people left (most of the high level players) and I had two stay... no big deal, right? Next thing I know, I come in to drop some more items off for people just starting, only to find that the ground is empty. I look up around town for a moment, and find that some of the high level characters are SELLING THE ITEMS I'M DROPPING to the vendors.

Needless to say, this kind of mean spirited, greedy-crap is going to kill what little player base is left playing this old game (which I happen to love).

I won't be making games like this anymore, and it's a shame too, because low levels NEED HELP sometimes. And not the occasional "rush a newbie because I'm bored" help.

Anyways... thanks for reading, those of you who might have found themselves in a similar situation, trust that you are not alone.

U are obviously right . That hurts ur feelings and ur right . U know in this game like in any other game there are some bad persons . I've dont that myself .
Giving items to new people who asked and some of them didnt even say a ty . Old players get alot of stuff that dont even pick up from the ground and those can do miracle for new ppl .
Even tho the community is low not so many people start here but if u really wanna help like we all were in this position to be helped by others with items u can always make an easy account with same password and give the account to people who are asking and tell them to get what they want from there . U can always mule back some items when u have time into that account and when next person comes u can always do same thing . Problem is u might find urself with the mule "cleaned" but at least u help people in need . Also not many "newcomers" will stay but for those who will u have done a nice gesture to compensate the help that others have given you in the past .
I hope u get what im trying to say here but if u didnt i will try to be short now : Dont get sad and angry because of some stupid people and think about the ones that u really helped and many others should do the same . So dont throw them on the ground and just make a spare mule and when someone in needs will ask a storm , a shako , a wizardspike . viper etc can always be usefull .

I appreciate the comment and understanding Quad. I hate to make rant posts, but I was pretty upset and needed to vent in what I felt was a meaningful way...

At the time I couldn't think of a good way to give back, but you did throw some good ideas to me.

I think I will just make a mule account, fill each character up and then make a level restricted game for people with characters under level 50.

Then, hopefully the items will get to people that REALLY need them, and pave the way for more people to have a positive experience and keep coming back.

Thanks again, and hope to see you around.

its awesome that you tried to help the community. unfortunately, there are in every situation people who dont care about rules or spray hate to create a bad atmosphere.
you can try to report players with a bad behaviour so we can take action.

    have fun!

As @Quad said, this is an online environment so you will definetly encounter those so called trolls just like any other game. There is no game where trolls do not exist. Ignore and don't let them get to you, that would be the best decision that you can take or report them if they keep pushing it with the same attitude and we will make sure they will be punished for their behaviour.

It's a good idea to create a game with restricted levels and even better hunt for those New, Start, Act1, etc games that are mostly created by new players and drop them some items. Also the fact that you give it back to the community it's always a nice thing to see as sometime people tend to forget they started low, they got help and they should do the same with the newcomers.

By the way quad, there are a lot of new people joining, no idea why you would say the contrary and a 300+ constant number in 2016 is definetly not low when it comes to a 15 years old game like d2 considering that average prv servers number is around 20-30 players at most (and most are dead or turned into ghost towns) and we got ten times more than that. Years ago the game was far more popular but that can't last forever. Be grateful with what you got.

Its true that alot of people are coming but i was talking about those that i helped . I even friend add them since the day that started and didnt loged since then for 1 month . my guess he didnt liked something . All i said its that people do come but most dont stay . Why ? i donno friend added around 4 players and i didnt see them log since i helped them with rush and freebies but then again its their own choice . More then what me and others have done its enough . In fact the fun is getting the rune/items urself by drop etc . thats the all fun in the game . Some people dont get that and join game and ask free enigma and stuff that are not for new ppl .

Finally i wanted to thank the people admins and owners for keeping this server online 24/7 without lag . Can't say that i saw so much dedication in all my d2 experience . Keep up the good work and people who matter really appreciate it . Same to shenguardian ... dont worry the people who matter will appreciate what u did for them like u did when others helped you .

This game is a come and go game, some want to get that nostalgic moments for a day or two, some simply don't have the patience to levelup without help and so on, some will just switch from single to multiplayer or diff servers now and then or they will simply stick to other games as well. The fact that you helped them it's important as some players decide to stay here exactly because there are so many friendly people in this community so don't let this change your dedication of helping out people. I also agree with you and I would say the multiplayer brought lazyness to this game comparing to single player but it's also a lot more fun just that some people don't have the patience they had back in 2001 when there weren't any fancy graphic mmo games. Nostalgia won't keep a game active forever.

Players appreciation is what kept us going so thank you for that. For most of us this game was one of the very first RPG games and keeping it alive after so many years it's a great pleasure.

What happened to that picture with the face . On occasion I like to create a new player, and create game , after finding a rusher, at the end after getting rushed to hell I say "thanks for nothing". Or I create games named "free items please" and when someone joins ill talk smack to him just for kicks and sell everything to akara. I dont know why I do it, I just do. Maybe im crazy but whos you to judge me ?.

Such attitude will eventually going to get you banned from this community so better avoid it.

The picture of me went down because I kept getting hit on. I'm not here to flirt, I'm happily married and looking to just play the game and make the occasional friend.

Furthermore, I'm not one to judge others, but I can honestly say I am glad I haven't met you in game and been treated as you say you've treated others. I believe you do it for attention, and from what Gix is saying, it is soon to run its course. There are better and more social ways to spend your time, and get the attention you obviously crave.

Being kind to others might change your life... but who am I to judge, and who are you to care? Right?

Aw ... you should expect most guys to be love strucked by pretty much any girl they see in the online environment. This never changed and never will but it's always fun to see them trying to impress girls.
By the way it's nice to see the wife taking attitude and playing some d2 instead of the husband, he should better not interfere with your bh/mf runs or else... :D

As for this guy, TRoll, he is a nice person to talk with when he isn't trolling and lately I've seen he started to change that attitude so it's a good thing.

I appreciate the kind words, but yeah, my husband doesn't mind my gaming habits, he used to play Diablo in the past and just kind of lost interest. I'm still very much addicted though, hehe. He thinks it's cute, and is very supportive (enough so that he's always telling people hes making friends with that his wife plays video games).

Considering that you're the founder, and every conversation I've had with you has been very knowledgeable and polite, I'll take your advice about "TRoll" to heart, and not be so quick to take offense, as I did. It just bothered me that he came and posted in the thread just to brag (I guess would be the word to use?) about how he treated people in the past because he was bored...

I'll agree with the fact that his comment is one of the lamest I've seen in a long time but pretty sure he realized that too. Still, online gaming gives you the opportunity to meet all kind of people being either good or bad and that's available for any game but we are always here to make sure things don't get pushed too far and players respect eachother.

As long as they realize I'm married and not interested in anything other than being gaming buddies, they can go as "crazy" as they want, hehe... To be honest I have about 7 friends that I've met on the server, and only 3 know I'm a woman. I usually keep the information to myself, less hassle that way really, lol.

You have never seen catfish on MTV? It is a program about people faking the identity of themselves on social media.

Ah, okay. No I haven't seen it before. Sounds interesting though. I might have to look it up.

As for the other four friends not knowing, my being a woman either hasn't come up, or they've not been on for a bit. I don't think it would matter to them, but you never know, I've had friends that were guys in the past videogames I've played act totally different when they found out, either by being less talkative, to being more flirty. It sucks sometimes, but that's life I guess.
