Are runes difficult to find?

Hey guys

Are you struggling to find higher level runes? I know it's a lot of grinding, but 2 weeks later the highest rune I've found is Ohm xD found by Frigid Highlands wp elites...

What's your best find so far, and where did you get it?

 

Diablo, Cows, Travincal for me i found a lot of high runes there

 

Worldstone Keep lvl 2 and 3 it's a nice place to find them too. In Hell difficulty of course.

 

Can be a bit of a challenge to find em , but you will get some nice drops with consistent grinding high lvl areas . Gl

 

Cows have the highest probability of dropping a High Rune due to their density. Note that Magic Find does not affect rune drops at all. If you are farming runes, only kill mobs with high density and skip the rest. The same goes for items as well. With regards to killing high dense areas I find the best classes are Nova/Light Sorc, CE Necro, Java, and TrapSin. CE Necro requires Enigma for speed, a very strong merc to get the initial kill (you should prioritize crushing blow, and IAS on your merc to kill bosses. Obedience is an excellent rune word for a starter merc), and does not require infinity (though it helps). All other classes require infinity to bust light immune. Nova Sorc requires a Phoenix to maintain Mana and is clearly the most expensive of all the classes. If you are sniping monsters, a hammerdin is the top class to go once you learn how to travel with charge and swap to hammers, ofc once a hammer gets enigma then charge becomes redundant. Overall, the best starting class in the game is Blizzard Sorc or a Hammerdin. This season, I tried going the bliz sorc route. I've moved onto CE Necro now. Last season I got sick of the palla but I can say that Pally was faster at acquiring wealth over the bliz sorc (at least for me). If you are going to use Pally, you have to know how to use charge. If you don't, then the pally wont be much use till you get enigma.

The best runes I've gotten myself so far this ladder are two Jah runes on two separate occasions farming Travincal. I was also in a public Baal run game the other day and a Cham dropped and was able to get that. No Zod for me yet. No Ber runes either.

Last ladder I had the best luck in the Flayer Jungle, Lower Kurast, Travincal, and the Durance of Hate Lvl 2. Outside of those areas highest I remember getting was Lo.

 

You can try in act 2 arcane place and kill birds , they are very good for finding gems , runes , jewels and charms . I find my first zod there , GL

 

In this season I found 3 JAH from councils (1 in travi, 2 near Mefisto), 1 JAH in Chaos sanctuary, 1 CHAM before trone room and BER near summoner. In my opinion the best way to find high runes is to kill councils or kill a lot of mobs in high level spots.

 

Last season I kickstarted my farm with a hammerdin but not until I'd farmed Coutess enough times to cube runes for Enigma. I never even considered to rely on the pally's charge!

I also had a Sur drop in the cow level for me.

 

Best places to farm runes my opinion is cow hell and santuary. (Areas lvl 85 too)

 

Found Cham rune on a chest in wsk 2, ohm, Lo and sur's in chaos+wsk, but cow can be a good alternative too. For example last night i did 3-4 cows, found a sc 20/17 and sold it for jah Lo.. so.. good option for farming runes too...

 

I found 2 Zods, 1 Cham in cow, 1 cham in Chaos sanctuary, 1 cham on the way to Nihalak, few Bers in other places. Cow & Chaos is best, in my opinion.

 

Just to make it clear, one should not just autotele to the boss monster, rather one should kill all of the dense groups of monsters on the way in order to be more successful in finding high runes?

 

@horizon21 ofc, boss monsters havent given me anything so far, while high mobs of monsters are what im always looking for.

 

Last night was my first proper HR drop - Cham from Hell Cows. Last ladder I cubed Ber and Jah from Countess drops. I might have been doing things the wrong way .

 

Countess drops Lo max. Perhaps her minions dropped it but not her. I found Zod in cows this season, few bers in chaos and nihtalak. Apart from that nothing more interesting which is a bit disappointing.

 

Indeed she does. Referring to my previous comment - last season I cubed a Ber and Jah for Enigma to get my Hammerdin on track just from Countess rune drops (Lo and below), so it took 5-6 days of farming her and 3-4 lucky Lo drops.
The Cham dropped from Cows (this season) as previously stated.

 

All the minions in the same room as the Countess can drop a higher rune.
