what would you suggest for my secondary skill like fire

 

As a fire skill you can put some Fire Ball points and Fire Mastery instead of Energy Shield and Telekinezis points - this will mix up things enough.

 

If you want to go on dual tree you will not have enough points with standard orb build. It doesn't exactly work as good, at least in my opinion, I played for a while with Fire/Orb sorc, I would prefer pure cold and avoid immunes than to go dual tree. If you still want to, you need 20 points in Frozen Orb and around 10 points in Cold Mastery. Ice bolt is left at Level 1, because it only gives 2% per skill point , which is not a lot to an Orber. Rest of your points go into Fire Blast, Fire Mastery , Meteor - in that order. I choose to max Cold Mastery , instead of putting only 10 points in it, I was using this on HC with a starter gear sorceress and I wasn't pleased with the results. Without proper gear things are just not happening, even with 20 in CM the damage wasn't enough, first time I went with max Meteor over Fire Blast, what I figured is that Cold Immunes tend to move a lot and Meteor wasn't as good, so I went for FB the second time. If you are just starting I would suggest a Blizzard sorceress , it is better in terms of efficiency. Orb is a lot of fun and you need to be less precise while playing with her, but as I said, without proper gear it just doesn't work.

Most of the Cold Immunes don't have much HP , the bigger part of them you will be able to kill with a few FB's and some require casting Meteor too.

 

I have a question: why 20 cold mastery? With good gear and few skillers max cold mastery hits -230~ cold resist + facets and all you need is -175, mobs can't get lower than -100 resist. Or it's different on this server?

 

its no different. if you intend to pvm only a few pts into cold amstery is enough. However if you are going to pvp that skill is busted and should be changed on this server. Its incredibly hard to stack res with limited item base not like eu-nl or smth. Cold mastery should function the same way as fire and ltg

 

cold masteries is so sick in pvp m8, maximum may pierce around 270% cold res, also -10% coldres from 2x cold rainbow in spike helm & DF. You can be 1 hit K.O with 4k5 life char just by 1 wrong step in blizzard if you dont have at least 370% cold res in Hell.

 

Yeah but this is titled as a pvm build. My point was you can save some skills from cold mastery and put on frozen orb for better ice blast, since all you need is -175 res even for 75 cold res monsters.

 

Why would you max Telekinesses if u put your points in vitality? i dont get it.

Tp tome/Id tome/Keys for locked chests and 1 spot left for 5fhr Sc+Mod.

That leaves you with 12 free spots to pick up items.

Merc:
Bugged eth andy with 15 ias jewel+Ed or any other mod.
Eth infi in Cv or Ca.
Eth bugged forti.
Laying of hands gloves.
Raven ring 240+/20.
Eth upg Gorers.

That will give your merc the ias bp needed for Ca and Cv.

So what is the best setup for a Orb sorc with mana sheild/static? My equipment isnt the best but I want to be ord.
