Share Your MF number

Hey guys,
I would like you to share how much MF you have on your main farming characters and if you are happy with it.
This is not a discussion about MF vs. Speed, but just to share the number and if you are happy with your drops.
I have been speed running Nihlathak with 202 MF and i am quite happy. MF around 200 has always worked for me.
But now i got my MF to 270 and soon I plan to do runs with around 350 MF.
So how much MF do you like to have and are you happy with your drops?

Also this is a good side question:
Do you use Gheed's fortune and stick by the general consensus that the extra gold has no connection to your drops (other than the extra gold) or prefer to go the pure MF route and believe extra gold "curses" your drops?

 

I MF with 3 char's basically : Pal with ~200, Cold Sors with ~350 and light sors with 25 (from CoH). Really depends on what you're trying to do.
Call me superstitious, but i believe if you are RUNE hunting, you should have 0 MF and GF (or minimum, up to 50 lets say). My theory is that if there's an increased chance of gold and MF items spawning, it can affect rune drop. For all i know, that theory is NOT proven, might be even wrong, but it works for me rune-hunting-wise.
Item hunting is different from my perspective, DR applies to MF afaik, so anything above 400 is a overkill. On this server anything above that mark lacks in many aspects, if you are looking for fast runs lets say. Quick note : this depends on what you are looking for, i want to find uniques that are hard to drop. Some people choose otherwise.

 

I have 900 mf on killswitch with pitzerker barb can run super uniques and champions even pindle under 3 to2 minute depends on internet and first of all map.
On single player i can clear pits like 1:50 seconds.
On here like 2:30 to 3:30 seconds because i lag here alot.
Pitzerker barb with item find skill actually beats mf cold sorcerers if pitzerker barb is proablly geared because look for example if sorcerers run maesolem = 1sorc run
If pitzerker barb runs maesolem= 1 run is like 2x sorc runs because item find skill which sorcerers doesnt not have pindle dropped me shard just cuz of item find skill,a unique mob in pits dropped me crowns of ages because of item find skill, and this latest drop Deaths fathom on pits drop was also from a item find skill

 

How much MF do you have? I have about 900, not including unique items.

that's not how eg or mf works. dont know about this server but on official first TC is decided from monster avaible TC with proper weight. this is when its decided if u got dropped gold/item/rune. so if you got gold amount is rolled and mutiplied by your eg. if its item, its chooses specific item then rolls for unique if fail, rolls for set, if fail rolls for rare, if fail rolls for magic etc... if its rune it rolls from highest possible rune drop if fails, 1 lower, i guess u get idea. mf is counted to rolls for unique/set/rare/magic and it multiply monster base rate to drop specific rarity, but it doesnt work's 1 to 1. there are tables avaible with specific rarity diminishing return so lets say 300% mf gives u 300% higher chance for magic, 200% for rare, 187% for set and 136% for unique. 1000% mf gives 1000 magic/375 rare/333 set/200 uniq. that's why ussualy stacking mf is bad idea couse u lose speed and dont gain much profit, unless you are hunting for magic and rare items.

so mf doesnt ruin rune drops, its just ruin white/superior/socketed

 

44 from wt 50 from shako 40 from gheed so 134 mf sadly its bad but i play on hammerdin whitout enigma..

CE/Sumo Nec - 310 (ist'd Shako, Eni, 20x7mf sc)
Lgt Sorc - 204 (ist'd Occy, Travs, CoH, 7x7mf sc)
Cold Sorc - 577 (more DMG) / 702 (more MF)
Singer Barb - 557 (TP setup) / 737 (MF switch)

I've found good stuff with all of my characters, including those which I didn't list that have under 100mf. So far this ladder I've found alot of cool rares and all uniques except Tyreals, Death's Web and the Mang Song staff. I mostly used my Necro for farming and I can say that 300mf works just fine and I'm happy with the results.

 

I run with 168 on hammerdin, and have found my best drops on him, although they were from Baal. My blizz sorc runs with 700 and the best she found was shard in Maso. My follow-the-leader pure hork barb runs with around 950 but I haven't used him enough to really have success.

 

Hammer 143(eni + shako) - 400 nitha run -> coa, sacred armor
Sorc Light 25fm( coh) - 200 runs nitha -> ber, sacred armor
Hammer 94(eni) - 300 runs -> completly nothing.

 

Best luck was with a 70 mf sorc 3 griffons eye in 1 day 2 from baal and one from common tiny mob
