Build Help

    Hi All,

    I've built a hybrid fireball/orb sorc for mfing as my first character. Using this gear;
    Shako (umed)
    HOTO
    Spirit Monarch
    Ormus Robes
    magefist
    soj/raven
    arach
    war travs

    I'm currently struggling with a few types of monsters as i have put almost no points in dex, str for gear and rest in vit. archers, claw vipers and niths corpse explosion can kill me in 1-2 hits. Should i re-skill and get max block? or go for energy shield? My merc has insight so mana is not too much of a problem

    Es takes a lot of points. Since you have to max telekinese to gain full effect of ES.
    So if you want to use ES you will have to go either fire or cold.
    With frozen orb it is possible to achieve 95% ES. Cause you only have 1 synergy and cold mastery.
    Wich leaves you enough skill points to max TK and ES.
    Using insight, you will be almost unkillable with max ES and lots of mana.


    If you are using clean skillers and have low hp, then go 1 point vita and 3-4 points mana

    With a spirit monarch it is not recommended to go max block.
    Since you will need more than 200 points in Dex, leaving you with little hp.

    If you want to keep your current fire/cold set up then you can use a stormshield for the 35% dmg reduction. (with shako thats 43% DR)
    It is also easier to get max block with stormshield.
    With your current gear set up, if you switch to stormshield, you will only need a 5% fcr amulet or a fcr ring to get 105 fcr break.

    For the nith part you can use an item with the "slain monsters rest in peace" ability. (nature's peace ring or blue tyreal armor) So he cant use CE on the corpses.
    Nith will only be a bit hard to farm when going full cold.

    Or, If u dont insist on orb, you can always go for good old fb/blizz full vita sorc... back in the times, when i was not bored by sorcs, i was playing this one almost exclusively... On hardcore - she was named iDDQD for a reason ^^

    Yeah, that has always been a very fun build for me. Best of both worlds. :D

    So would you suggest letting merc handle the cold immunes in hell? Or try and go for infinity?

    Good advice, i have seen a lot of sorc builds going for ss. What does a fcr ring trade for usually?

    I have a natures peace, would you put it on merc?

    Sure... u basically go like this:

    Skills:
    Fire:
    Fire bolt - Max
    Fire ball - Max
    Fire mastery - 1pt
    Warmth - 1pt (optional)

    Cold:
    Ice bolt - Max
    Ice blast - Max
    Blizzard - Max
    Cold Mastery - 1pt
    Nova + Glacial - 1pt each (prereq.)

    Lightning:
    Telekinesis - 1pt.
    Teleport - 1pt.

    Stats:
    Strenght: enough for eq.
    Vita: all the rest go here

    And then you throw some basic equipment on - with approx 14 to sorc skills and 5 cold+fire skillers you can reach 5k fb + 5k blizz (not counting + dmg to each element)... Enough to solo whole game on p8...

    -Well non hybrid chars usually rely on merc vs immunes.
    -You can get a decent stat fcr ring for vex/ohm.
    -Try putting nature's peace on merc and see if it helps.
    -If not then equip it yourself when doing Nith.

    Not really any guides/info on this build. Just trough trial and error you usually come up with certain strategies/gear options.
    But feel free to ask me when/if im online. (and not afk)

    U get 1-2 shot by the vipers in niha room because there's a bug that makes u take corpse esplosion dmg on the sql of psn. To prevent that get dr or better off don;t get hit by psn dmg.As for gear u should mantain 105 fcr and maybe 86 fhr as u probably got life so u can teleport out of danger. I highly dislike the ormus choice as the +fire dmg from it does nothing when coupled with fire mastery and +3 is not that important. I sugest u use a skin socketed with w/e u feel like(Um or fire/light rez) as the 30 fcr from skin coupled with hoto and spirit will get u to the 105 fcr bp that will let u change some items (belt for example if u feel like u need more dr/dungo or light rez/tgods). As for skills in the light tree only get teleport and maybe static, cold tree max orb and 1 pct cold mastery, fire mastery-max fbal/meteor rest of points ill be split into bolt/firemastery(use a spread shit or dmg calculator to see the optimal spread for hightest dmg). meteor/fbal should be your primary skill so do areas acordingly.Imo do ball runs as the waves come stacked so u can meteor/orb then.Other places that i sugest farming are niha. That's it imo till u can afford some better items and swap the build/character.
