I am making this thread so you dont have to lose your time testing shaders and relaunching the game I will make a screenshot on every single shader option in OpenGL shader. Everyone can comeback to remember how every option looks like. cnc-ddraw config Display Settings: Presentation: Borderless Maintain aspect ratio: off Enable vsync: off Adjust mouse sensitivity: off Lock cursor to window / screen: enabled Compatibility Settings: Limit game speed: Sync with monitor refresh rate Everything else turned off Advanced Settings: Renderer: OpenGL Everything else turned off Shaders\anti-aliasing\aa-shader-4.0.glsl Shaders\anti-aliasing\advanced-aa.glsl Shaders\anti-aliasing\reverse-aa.glsl Shaders\bilinier.glsl Shaders\bright.glsl Shaders\crt-lotess-fast.glsl Shaders\cubic.glsl Shaders\scanline.glsl Shaders\simple-sharp-bilinier.glsl Shaders\xbr\xbr-lv2-noblend.glsl Shaders\xbr\xbr-lv2.glsl Shaders\xbr\xbr-lv3.glsl Shaders\xbr-lv2.glsl Shaders\xbrz\4xbrz.glsl Shaders\xbrz\5xbrz.glsl Shaders\xbrz\6xbrz.glsl Shaders\xbrz\xbrz-freescale.glsl Shaders\xbrz-freescale.glsl What option do you like the most. For myself I know when you get boored from playing with single option you will switch to another later but for now feel free to share your taste.
Absolutly love your post.Thank you for you time Sir ! D2 graphics were poor even at launch and they have not aged well.I could not find the post and tried manually to check the options. My eyes hurt . Good thing *Gix messaged me where to find this post Would be nice to pin this post.It will be very helpful for new players.
if you had -3dfx (glide3-to-opengl) renderer running before it will count it as default so you need to run D2VidTst inside your diablo 2 folder with right click on the exe and properties and than make this changes run the program compatibility windows xp service pack 3! this is a law its better to choose run test be sure you are selecting directdraw 2d null after the test if you choose 3dx glide you are going to run everything the older way (with nglide 20 years ago) error should appear after doing everything correctly and now you can choose ddraw from the launcher i am posting this information and soon i will edit if needed if you prefer to play with nglide run D2VidTst again press skip and choose 3dx glide in your launcher you should also be using -3dfx !!!(i prefer ddraw because this topic was made for it)!!! Guide - Glide Wrapper | Page 3 | EuropeBattleNet Community Forum read the last posts from this topic that i typed there how to configure nglide because in this topic i am mentioning only -ddraw i needed this config ( for ddraw) because i am about to get started in the new session that is coming thankfully but it wasnt working so thats how its fixed all the configs in the main post are correct but you need this workaound for choosing the right setup
btw they were talking about 60 fps patch in the near future maybe with this session but if they cant figure it out i guess the losless scaling will be the workaround not sure if i would be able to do a guide to it because it all depends on the GPU itself (the resources you have to spare) as well as your monitor refresh rate (vsync , gsync , freesync, etc.) and as well as caping the framerate to desirable so you dont get the weird mouse lag in the game i tried it 1 year ago i had smooth times but the mouse felt really off maybe with patches they improved it(losless scaling) but i am not quite sure if they dont give us a patch for 60 fps(on eurobattlenet) i will try to find best settings in the program ( in singleplayer where the fps is capped at 25 it worked amazingly but on bnet its another topic where your mouse jumps all over the place)
