Server selection

    Just wondering how the game chooses which server to create a new game in. I don't select a specific server, but almost always end up with new games on one of the Europe servers even though my IP address is in the US (and I assume my ping time would show as lower for any US servers).

    I would also like to know how to set server location in stings maphack config file if that is possible. I'm using version stings maphack 2.24.

    I dont know if it is a maphack setable thing since it is a unique feature of this private server and sting is old and hard coded to original game.

    Hello, you can manually add the server selection as seen in the patch #13 notes
    TL DR In order to connect to a specific server simply fill in the server number in the "Game Server Description" field. Example: GS 1, GS 2, etc

    While BH maphack does save the server location for future games, with Sting you will have to add it manually (it saves the next game in line and the password but not the description field) and the easiest way to do it is having the preferred game server on copy-paste such as "gs5" or whichever region you prefer.

    I know how to specify a server, the new game interface is pretty self explanatory. I am wondering how the game its self chooses a server when none is specified. I have noticed the game seems to automatically chooses one of the first three (Europe locations). I would have expected either entire list random selection, or selection based on geoip or ping times, but none of these seem to be the case.
