"Announcement option" in game (write to all)

    Hello. Staff can write to all players in game. Why not to do it for all? example You will need 96lvl for it, if You reach 96lvl You have to make post on forum with: acc, char name, and screen from ranking. You can only use it like one time per hour, for trades, info about bh's.

    I said example you will need 96lvl, 97 or 98 to reduce spam. But I think 97 or 98 cause there are too much 96lvl players

    So what's the point of lvl restriction? Only 10-20 active users has 97+ level.

    Announcement is a Game Masters only option for a reason otherwise official server would have allowed it for everyone else too, not to mention that this involves serious coding over the whole platform itself and it won't affect d2 alone but all games supported by the platform. The biggest con of all is Exan's post - endless spam, and sooner or later it will be abused by some rage kid which will either use bad words or do illegal advertising. This suggestion would probably work on a 10 players online server with a solid whitelist but not on a 300+ public server.

    That's all? I can imagine those people abusing the command either by talking non-sense/advertising another realm/using inadequate language :)

    all in all we can say, to prevent massive spam(doesnt matter what kind). it would not be smart to activate the announcement option for all players. (thats what Exan mentioned already)
