Arcane Sanctuary- criminally underrated??

I've been doing a lot of Arcane Sanctuary runs - not just to Summoner, but clearing the whole thing - and I've found a shitload of good runes, charms and gems. Maybe it's just my continual luck, but it seems like there are a lot of runes that drop here, more than other areas, and a lot of them tend to be of the rarer variety. A Lo just dropped for me now and this is just my first run of the day. I know a lot of it is just chance, but I really think AS might be a rune magnet. Anyone else have this experience?

Edit- Not to mention, I forgot to include AS also has the 3 super chests that spawn at the "wrong ends" (the ones where the Summoner is not located).

 

I also think that AS is a good place for farm, i saw a guy who found cham, so you never know. AS is must when you farm

 

thats because players seek higher level areas to farm, but indeed i had some good drops from there too cause of the large number of monster packs

 

Yup, Arcane Sanctuary is awesome. Alot of easy monster packs to kill in that area. The Specters over there have a very high chance of dropping runes, like all the other "wraith" type monsters in the game. Normal specters can drop up to Cham and the special ones up to Zod. There are also superchests that spawn on the end of the paths which don't lead to the Summoner. I remember that long time ago I've read in a rune finding guide by a guy called Ulrik that AS has the second average rune drop after the Cow level.

I even got my first Ber drop this ladder in the Arcane Sanctuary, you can see it in the very first post of the "Your best find of the day" thread.

 

ghost type creatures like the ones flying around AS got the highest drop rate on misc items, good runes included.
the only problem with AS is that its not alvl85 so its uniques are unable to drop a lot of valuable items. Usually if i get the ghost busters feeling i just hop into WSK and clear all levels with spectres and souls while heading to baal. Its not only top alvl but its objects are able to drop runes up to zod.

 

It's because out of 6 hours of playtime they farm for 1 hour and complain about it in chat for 5 hours expecting sympathy. As @MadVisions said, all Ghost type monsters have higher chance of dropping runes, which tend to drop most of the gems, charms and runes in AS. Same goes for Tal Rasha tombs and last 3 levels in Forgotten Tower. AS is worth passing by if you are farming a few areas in a single game, but farming AS only in repetitive runs is not the best way to spend your time.
