Doesn't seem like you've taken your application much seriously. I don't see anything here showing or explaining how you'd add to the team... Good luck though.

I agree. I am all up for new staff members but it seems people are joining just because they think they are nice people... Becoming GM isn't about looking cool and logging into the realms with a blue cape, shiny armor, and blue text. It's about what you can do for the community. 80% of all the applications I see are written up in less than 5 minutes with no information on what these people plan to do.

Things a NORMAL PLAYER can do.

Rush
Help/Inform others when possible.

Things a GM MUST do.

Stay Active (Daily If Possible) On TeamSpeak, Forums, and Game Server
Speak English fluently.
Have Diablo II experience.
Provide ACCURATE information when helping players, if you do not know the answer guide them on where to get it or find it for them.
Watch for scamming, cheating, misconduct and report it following proper GM procedure.
Think of ways to bring the community together
Mediate for other players
Rushing, Gearing Up, and guiding new players.

Not disappear without notice
Not sit online looking cool and do nothing.

I am all up for saying yes to this application once I see some effort shown on how you are going to help the community and not how you want to join the dark side and get extra cookies.

The last part of your post @Charlemagne ( "how you want to join the dark side and get extra cookies" ) was reffering to me as I had a discussion with him in the morning and I've said he doesn't need to be shy applying for the GM position and added a small friendly joke at the end of my PM which sounded like "It's ok to join the dark side, we even got cookies."

I agree though, I like to see more words / information when it comes to a GM application.

Not sure what you want to say about "masks are everywhere" but @Roofies and Charlemagne were reffering to a more descriptive reason on why you want to become a GM (mainly more words regarding this), they weren't flaming you so no need to take it personal :)

I see this perspective as well. My apologies for the remarks against your playful humor, the fact that it was an inside joke made it hard to understand and take seriously. Don't loose it, we love humor and good attitudes. Don't forget, I have you added in-game and we've played together for some time and I do remember you. However, I wont be judging this application based off of friendship only factual data.

My Supporting Arguments
1. Judging by all the times I have interacted with you in-game, I believe you have a positive attitude and I think you are a decent fellow overall.
2. You have only been here for two months and you obviously show your interest in the forums by actively posting. Even while browsing through your latest posts I see you are trying to introduce and help new players, you have stayed active in the market place, and you participate in event discussions by posting feedback. This is an important factor that I noted to be a positive thing. Keep it up!
3. You have the ability to help out a lot with community events just by being available when we host them. Eventually though I would like to see you being able to handle staying calm and focused when tensions are high. When you need to keep players calm and in order while questions are flying, others are waiting for answers, some people don't speak your language, and you need to make sure that everything is executed smoothly so that the reputation of the server does not drop because of our inability as GM's to take control of the situation.
4. I have taken notice that you do participate in helping other members In-Game when you are available. Whether it is by rushing them, giving advice, or just welcoming a new player to the community and telling them that they can whisper you at any time. This is important and it is a must for any GM to include this as part of their duty.
My only concern is this: If you are willing to be part of a greater solution then it takes collaboration as a group, commitment, and for us to be unified as a whole and operate as one. I see right now that us GM's operate as a one man team unless otherwise necessary. We need to come together and divvy out work-loads and goals so that things get accomplished in a timely matter. From being tidy on the forums, to updating event posts, and even keeping hardcore alive. Another helper is good but a passionate worker that wants to implement ways to improve the team as a group and offer ideas that will stick with the community even long after they are gone, now that's a worker we need.. That is what I want to see the most, if anything. If every one of our GM's operated in a way that aimed towards improvement as a whole, we would have a structure within the staff that would be respected by the players and that would raise the reputation of the server.

My verdict? If you receive more positive feedback and no issues arise that end up voiding your application then I see no reason not to put you on a trial period. You said anybody can write a novel but deeds are what we want to see. This is true and I will hold you to your word on that. As long as nobody has a reason why he should not have this position I am interested to see what he does offer on a trial basis and what that can grow into if they stay committed to the team. You do need to get on TeamSpeak and communicate with the rest of the staff more frequently even if it is not via microphone.

Thanks,
Charlemagne
