I hope im not out of place by doing this but something happend today that made me stop and smile. I saw someone ( a player named Dab no clue who he is) take actual time and items to help a total stranger for no reason other than it was a nice thing to do. I find all too often we are quick to call down the loud on the mean one and the cheater ( with due cause of course) , but we neglect to mention the selfless, the kind, and the ones who actually take time and sometimes even items from there own account just to make our community a better place or help a new player, Im not talking about someone who is giving there running buddy there second best armour, or lets someone tag along for a rush. Im talking about the TRUE heros in this war against the prime evils and there unending ( thank god im only level 93 still) minions. The ones who see a total stranger, too weak still and ill armed to be able to even defend themselves from the demonic onslaught. The ones who pledge their sword ,shield, sometimes hard won treasures, and time, (seriously its a p.i.t.a. to rush sometimes) to further strengthen our ranks against this unending ( again ty ) forces of the prime evils. If the Guardian of Sanctuary sees fit ( shoutout GIX) i humbly suggest an honorable mention for when players are helping this realm be the greatest realm there is for slaying demons and undead. I would like to think it would maybe even encourage players to take a more active role in helping the ones who truly need it. Perhaps have your chosen warriors (staff) moniter for such events when mere mortals can rise above the darkenss? Again just a humble suggestion, Ely
Most players do not appreciate what someone would do for them. Not to mention that most of them are kept absolutely childish and immature. But there are still people who love the game and are willing to do anything for the community. You have my ax and I am ready to help as they helped me. May the force be with u. RoyalAC
Good idea Ely. This way also if a new player starts and need a hand they can take a look though the people and see if ones online to help them. Everyone loves a pat on the back, so good stuff!
Nice, thanks for the shout out, twas I! It's funny your post was noticed by gas who said something to me in game. Thats pretty cool to be thanked with a shout out, so thank you ely. I remember what caught my attention, I saw you in the rush me or w.e game and you had been in there for like fifteen minutes, so I came in and said " fifteen minutes is waaaay too long to be waiting for a rush" lol
We all help as best as we can, people like me do it simply as a way to pay it forward, due to the help we got when we started. When in game look for DarkSummoner, DarkArts, or DarkDemon, I'm always willing to lend a hand.
Yeah I started just recently and "Just do it" helped me out a lot, if you see me online feel free to message and I'll try help out the best I can Name: Exiled
I've personally congratulated through whisper a lot of people that constantly help new players or just any player. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that appreciates such community members and this thread is a fine example of that. The proof this server is still alive after more than 10 years, along with the GM events (you already know d2 servers don't really run events) and the rest of things, represents a big thanks for those who understand the meaning of a true community as nowdays a d2 server can only be hosted out of pure passion.
I would like to thank "DonPabloEscobar" also known by account "reg3" for making a surprise Trivia event tonight for late night active players. Supporting his runes and time just for the greater good of the others, a good show too for not being peek time, so a shout out to him for that
I'd have to thank the OP (Ely) himself for the NM and hell rushes and gear for my paladin. I have been farming Travincal and Halls and have saved up quite a bit of starter gear to pay it forward. Thanks again Ely
Thanks to all who motivated me to keep on going. It's a rare thing to establish such a great community when it comes to gaming considering trollers and flamers out there. I'm really glad that most oldschool gamers thinking is way different than new generation gamers one.
I would like to thank just do it for giving me the most postivie feedback on all comments, threads, events, ect than anyone; genuinely good guy so get to know this guy because he is a great fella! :x
