    Hi guys

I'm not comfortable with the new latency's that I'm getting. I've tried several things to eliminate my side like restarting Router and Computer. I've checked my network for other users etc etc. I've even disturbed my sleep to come online at "Server Time" 03:16 when the server is really quiet. But the problem persists.

Here are a few Screen Shots to show the /fps and it's not looking good.

Before the merge I was able to play on either US or Eu realms without any noticeable difference between the two. There were a few dangerous times like On EU at peak times around 20:00 in the evening. But this is different. The delays between actions are very noticeable now.

I feel a few Hardcore Deaths knocking at my door. :)

Checked this again at server time 07:30 and sadly it is actually worse. I really, really, hope this is not the end of my gaming here.

Is this while your running multiple loaders? I noticed mine is around 130-150 if single instance of D2 running, when I add on more, all of my accounts are between 160-250 which then starts getting a little messy on HC. Do you download or stream music while you play?

Well as you know I'm always running 4 loaders and prior the merge I had no issues even when I loaded full 8 player games. Ok, peak times could get a bit laggy, but other than that I was fine. Since the merge though, things have all gone really bad for me.

Gix mentioned that I must look into using a VPN. I'll look into that this evening when I get home with more time available.

Actually, Coldet's internet was acting weird. His latency is already better now as I talked to him.

The new host global position is closer than the ex-EU and ex-US server so having a much higher latency is impossible. Don't be surprised next time your personal internet can be used on it's max bandwidth capacity as this may happen to anyone.

@Tyrant, remember that everyone outside EU goes through the TCP Accelerator so even if you see 130 ingame, your gameplay experience is around 60. Opening multiple loaders shouldn't affect your latency at all.

@Xixinia, your latency is not normal so if you have torrents or streaming, close such websites. The ping for romanians is 20-50 at max.

Overall, more than 90% players have noticed an improvement into their latency, and we're talking about US players which are delighted.

That's downsizing the actual server experience. Topping at 50 ping is 10 ping short of the minimum value users actually encounter. The lowest fluctuation is 60 - 150. You can make a topic, and ask people to post their values, while idle, and while playing. But I assure you no one will come with 20 ping.

This still doesn't explain the issues Colded had, unless it was related to networks peering and shit, that I know nothing about.

i agree to regin .. the ping is not stable .. the average is ~ 100 for ro and my i-net con. is the best .. but i can play on hc with no problem .. i don't have lag so is fine ..and imo if i can play hc for soft is no prob at all..maybe for thouse who duel :clapping::bye2::dancing:

@reign, if you still want to make a smart comment then atleast learn more about diablo2.

@xixinia, if the ping was not stable you wouldn't be able to place HC and you would had lag. Use your brain, both of you.

You are testing ping through /p command, not through /fps. If /p is not stable then call your ISP, otherwise just ignore the /fps if you have no idea what it does.

Welcome to Diablo2! => Chat latency as you call it is the REAL server latency. That is /fps what you are saying.

Ingame /fps latency will always be higher and unstable because that is not pure latency. Its latency+fps+video graphic engine.

Go test out diablo2 and diablo3 as they work on the same theory. You will see people having 500-1000 ping while ingame but their real value is around 100. That was my value on diablo3 as well.

/p => ping or latency command -> this is the connection between you and the server and that is the full time stable value.
It's just like typing ping google.com into the cmd and that actually shows your latency to google servers.

/fps => its a combined ping value between ping + fps + video graphic engine. This value will NEVER be stable, not here, not on official servers and not on any other server.

You're playing this game for years and you still don't know much about it. Stop using commands and giving false statements if you don't know how they work.

PS: Increasing opened d2 loaders number also increases your ping, remember that.
