Looking for Oldschool Player PLS READ

Seriously, what a non-sense thread and discussion all over, starting from a simple question about what runeword are you using. The "crash" he was reffering to, that results in loss of items is called ladder reset. Is there a full moon today (as Mpmeyers said) or what? Are there still people that have 0 knowledge after playing this game for years? If you are afraid of loosing items into online games then STOP playing them. Go ahead and play single player games only but remember things can go bad there too unless you do regular backups as we do. Live the real life, not the game ... geesh!


You do remember something but you're mixing this up A LOT with some other stuff while confusing people and yourself too not to mention that you are spreading false rumours and this is pathetic seeing your ingame non-sense conversation too especially when the lawlruls and an admin pointed out that you're talking nonsense. We did had a HDD crash more than a year ago since well, HDDs don't last forever and this has happend few days before WE PLANNED to reset the ladder as it was quite old and lots of people were expecting for that. Due to that, the server was offline for a day or two until new HDD's were delivered and once we got them we uploaded our backup and evertyhing went back to normal but we performed a planned ladder reset two days after that and when we do that we WIPE EVERYTHING so that means you will have only your account left after this happens as we don't transfer characters to non-ladder and we don't keep items when we do that. Our last ladder reset was in February 2014 so at that time you obviously started from sratch. That's what private servers do and actually the official server did few times as well. I'm amazed some people still have no idea about the mechanics of the game that they are playing. Other than that, nothing could go wrong unless people don't use unique passwords or start sharing their password. Most of times that is what they do and they fail on remember that.

If you didn't knew this yet, most private servers actually wipe the database every few months while we do it a lot rare, every few years. Last ladder actually lasted 3 years and there is no other private server that kept the ladder such much with lots of active players. Admins warned you already about spreading some non-sense false rumours as that was what you were actually doing. You don't seem to care about reading the forum or actually knowing what d2 private servers are. And of course some people were probably angry when we reseted the ladder at that time since they probably joined few days or weeks before that but you can't always please everyone and there will always be someone who dislike the decision but once again we are not keeping ladders forever here and we will never will so if you can't understand that then you always go back the official full of 99% bots and resets the ladder by transfering chars to non-ladder just to make you feel better by seing them. Don't forget that after that ladder reset we had almost DOUBLED our online players number so a ladder reset is also a good opportunity for the server to get even more popular. Also remmeber that no one obliges you to play here if you don't want to, but we won't allow such non-sense behaviour also, not to mention you're raging after a full year about that and when you got back you didn't even knew we have a different patch. I can't see any logic on why you create this thread after a runeword question but damn, some people are weird!

PS: We take backups few times a day for the last 10 years just for safety reasons which is more often than the official does it itself so use that brain.
And no, there are no plans on wiping anything soon, things are going great. Even in bad case scenario like getting all SSD-RAID burned down, our backups are made on external mirror servers so we are always safe.
