Solved Lowering Ping (from South America)

    So I've decided to join the server recently and sent a Gix couple PMs to see if there was anything we could do about the ping (I'm playing from Brazil).

    Downloaded all the tunneling services I could to try them out and comparing the latency with the /p command (unfortunately some of them don't even allow D2).

    Normal seems to be 515ms.
    BattlePing seems to improve it slightly, lowering it to 480ms (still not too happy about it).

    I'm sure it's not an issue on my connection and I understand that there's nothing you can do when the problem is caused by distance, but proxys have helped me a lot in other games and it would be awesome if they had the same impact on this one.

    Does anyone have any workaround and know of any other proxy services that could help? :)

    Just so you know, your latency is ~200ms upon pinging your ip address so if you get double than that then be sure you do have an issue as well. While some proxy applications may work for some of the games and improve connectivity, chances are they won't work for such an old game and more important if your provider has a bad routing and the distance is fairly big then no proxy will fix these for you. Proxy softwares like WTFast, BattlePing may have quite some positive impact for some of MMORPGs but won't do anything for most of the other games, especially 17+ years old ones.
