New Account Starter Gear

This was actually suggested by Axxxy during a TS session. So I do not want to take the credit. BUT I do want to support it.
The Following would be my variation of the idea:

All new "Forum" accounts will get starter gear for a character with the same name on an account with the same name. Player must specify SC or HC.
Ie: Forum account = Coldet
Game Account = Coldet
Character = Coldet

The gear I would suggest: all the following items are selected because they would suit any character that is just starting out and leave a lot of room for the player to improve on as he/she farms for new and better gear suiting their needs.
Option 1: The least effort to implement because it entails normal game items:
1. Vipermagi +-30% all resists
2. Eth. Duriels Shell - for Mercenary
3. Spirit Sword & Spirit Shield (This brings to mind another much needed suggestion that I would like to see implemented ie: Kite Shield can get 4 sockets) Please Please Please Please!
4. Insight Polearm in Eth Partizan - I had considered Thresher but then the player would never need to farm.
5. Waterwalk Boots
6. Infernostride boots for Mercenary
7. Peasant Crown also known as the poor mans Shako - we may even consider a Shako here.
8. Mercenary helmet -mmmmm perhaps a Crown of thieves
9. 2x String of ears Belts
10. Gloves - Chance Guard and Venomgrip
11. The Mahim-Oak Curio Amulet + Low Maras
12. 2x Dwarf Star + 2x Manald Rings

Option 2: Also very easy to implement because it entails normal game items:
1. 2x Sigons Sets for character and Mercenary - Widely recognized as a great all round starting set.
2. Spirit Sword
3. Insight Polearm in Eth Partizan
4. The Mahim-Oak Curio Amulet + Low Maras
5. 2x Dwarf Star + 2x Manald Rings

Option 3: This would need a lot of consideration but it would be my FIRST choice of the options
1. A Modified "GameSymbol" starter Set based on the Sigons set but with vast improvements.

Such as 1 to Teleport when full set is worn - this would require level 18 to wear full set​

The idea here is to have a decent set but NOT an Ultimate set. If the team decides this is the way to go then I will certainly put more time into the modification suggestions.

Adding to this we could also consider adding an even better Modified Set that will only be awarded for Positive Forum activity milestones. Like 50 posts + 2 months membership.

 

i consider that this will ruin the plasure of starting the game , i enjoy farm from lvl 1 .. olso there are alot of people that " give free " so newcommers allredy have shako's and raven's and lot's of other things...

I have created a druid with name : starsmash, acc. name: starsmash. How can I avail the set in option 2 or 3 ?if possible i would want option 3.

 

There is no Live option regarding these ideas as far as I know. Since the original post is so outdated, and the ideas are not clearly explained I will go on a limb here and explain how I understand it:

1. Either they want a system where you receive all those items (or at least what you ultimately decide is fair) when you create a new account/character with the same name, or later some admin with serverside access can edit them in (which poses more issues than "issues" it tries to solve); or
2. Players unite to gather those items which are later muled on a certain character or offered to that user in question.

As for the "teleport set", I cannot even begin to explain how laughable that idea is, so I will leave it at that.

As you may be a new user on this forum/server, two things you should know:

1. There is no capable mods here to think and implement the functions they are given to implement, with the exception of probably the owner(s); and
2. If you want help with items, rush or any question regarding this patch/server/diablo2 feel free to ask any player on the server until someone is willing to help you; however keep in mind that with the high drop rates (especially from Councils and Bosses) most users don't even pick up certain items, or not perfect items at least, so finding someone who is willing to fill their inventory/stash/cube with ultimately useless items and mule them once every 5 runs just so they can have them prepared in case someone else needs them, are slim at best. This is a small example why you should not rely on admins to help you out in these situations or even listen to what they think is fine and dandy, while doing little towards those goals!

Or maybe I'm just too negativist to spot the awesome work at hand here, so take this opinion as it is, a simple opinion, so don't base your actions solely on it!

 

The game is already easy for every new player. If you take even the pleasure or first nm and hell councill and mephisto farm what is there left for the game? Next you will want lvl 99 in one hit and zods in Geeds shop...

 

This is exagerated. Due to the numbers of players you could throw some newbie items to the newcomers. That's a win-win gesture.
"The pleasure of the game" may vary from player to player.
