Solved Ping problems

    New here, so hello. My issue is the first time I found this server, I didn't realize there was a Europe and USA, and I went with the Europe gateway to access the game, after a few minutes I noticed my ping was around 250~ and while it wasn't super detrimental it was sometimes noticeable and it got to me after a little bit, I found after that there was a USA gateway and was very relieved, but after uninstalling everything and reinstalling everything and going with the USA gateway registry, my ping is unchanged. Is this common among USA players or is it somehow still tied with the Europe gateway? It says USA gateway on battle.net so i figured i got it right but my ping is still rather high :( any insight would be nice

    Hello and welcome aboard.

    A ~250 ping for diablo2 isn't considered high. Since you are connecting from US you get routed through the us gateway (no changes need to be done on your side, using any of the gateways will get you on the same realm) which uses tcp accelerator technology however, depending on your location, the distance will always play the big factor here so unless your provider has a better peering thats about it. A stable ~250 ping is most likely unnoticeable (fps games are more sensitive, d2 isn't that sensitive), barely at most, unless you have lag spikes which is when you probably felt it higher than usual.
