    Some theory behind rares:
    • Rare Items have 2 - 6 magical properties (affixes)
    • Rare items can never have more then 3 prefixes (or suffixes) at the same time. Rare item with 6 magical properties therefore always has 3 prefixes and 3 suffixes.
    • Larzuk will always add 1 socket to a socketable rare item, however rares can have 2 sockets in case they happen to have the "Mechanic's" prefix.
    • qlvl= The Level of the Affix
    • Rares can have a specific prefix or suffix under condition that qlvl<=ilvl+2.
    ...AND CRAFTS - basically the same rules apply for crafted items, however:
    • Crafted items have 100% chance for maximum of 4 magical properties (from ilvl 71+) in addition to the fixed mods
    • The limit for maximum number of prefixes/suffixes is still 3.

    When are crafted items better then rares?
    Crafted items offer a range of unique mods that very often cannot be rolled on any other item in game, or can provide higher mods that are unreachable by a regular affix. Some of the most commonly used examples are:
    Hit Power items
    • Knockback on Gloves​
    • Extra 1-5 Dexterity on Rings​
    Blood items
    • Extra 10-20 to Life​
    • Extra 1-3% Life Stolen Per Hit​
    • Extra 1-5 Strengh on Rings​
    • 5 - 10% Crushing blow on Gloves​
    • 5 - 10% Faster Run/Walk on Amulets​
    Caster items
    • Extra 10-20 to Mana​
    • 4-10 % Regenerate Mana​
    • 5 - 10% additional Faster Cast Rate on Amulets​
    • Extra 1-5 Energy on Rings​
    Note that unless you really need the extra stats from crafted items which are not unique to them (like 5 extra Strength on rings), its probably not worth investing your time into it. Not only is crafting expensive, the chances of rolling the perfect stats are astronomical - Rare rings for example offer very competitive (if not better) stats at much better price (gamble). Rare Amulets on the other hand can never provide more then 10% FCR, which is why Caster Amulets are generally considered to be the better option. The same goes for CB and KB on gloves.

    nice guide but well from my point of view picking and identifying every single rare is a must
    these godly rares such as fools mod with 550ed etherial 2 sock berserkers axe rare version,450ed rare grand matron bow etc is rare as hell once obtained can be sold for so many high runes and really useful in pvp.
