Set Items & Rune Question

Hi, I'm a fairly new player, been playing the server for about a week now with two friends and we made it to hell setting, but we've been having quite a hard time finding set items. Is it because the unique rate is set to 10x but the set rate isn't, or is there some place we should be farming just for set items that we don't know about? There are a few set pieces for builds that we'd like to find, but we've yet to be able to find anything but the rare, occasional Isenharts set piece drop.

Secondly, is there any place I should be farming for runes aside from countess for good drops? I've always heard cows was good but never had any luck there. Thanks again if anyone can help.

 

Set items don't drop because unique items have 10x drop and cancels dropping the set items. And most of the set items are good for nothing...

For runes best is Countess, in cow drop too but you have to make many runs, in Travincial also drop nice runes and nilatak

 

Thanks for the quick response. While it is true that most set items are garbage, there are a few set items, particularly exceptional and elite versions of items that are required for certain builds. Guillaume's Face, for example, has ample crushing blow which makes it a very nice if not the best smiter helmet, or merc helmet. Tal Rasha's set makes an amazing sorc set either with three off pieces or the full set. Another example would be a few off pieces of the Trang Oul's set which can be used for both summoning necromancers and poison necros.

Removing set items from major magic finding zones entirely takes a lot away from the game; sure, you can still find an Isenhart's breastplate here and there, but you rarely ever find anything worthwhile that you can actually use from the usual set drop rate. The enhanced rates make leveling easier, sure, but having Sigons while leveling would still be nice, and for those who don't have runewords, those set items can actually be used in their place until they farm out the runes required for the other pieces.

I only bring this up because I'm really enjoying this realm, and compared to the other realms it's by far my favorite. If it's possible it would be nice to have set drops at least boosted a little so they can be found more often from normal monsters so we don't take that facet of the game away entirely. Just a suggestion.

 

i think set item should be findable, i want to acquire Guillaume's Face for my paladn so i can drink vodka and wrestle grizly bars for money wile looking relly cool and beat asses with my shilds.

 

the set items are findable the chance are 5-6x like elite unique items (diadem , corona , shard , templar , tyrael ,, ) have same chance , on the server are a lot of set items but need more runs to drop it

 

Your main concern is that since the unique drop is so high, almost all of the items dropped from major bosses are unique or rare. That's why the drop for set items seems low, because most of them come from Boss drops on Blizzlike realms.

My advice is to clean up act 4 and 5, because the items dropped from the mobs tables are pretty much still the same, therefore when something like Corona drops, you have the same appliance for magic properties like the Blizzlike realms do, meaning that you can find all the qualities, from whites to unique and set items.

Also understanding where are your best chances to find certain base items is required, for elite set base items, you should stick to act 3, 4 and 5 on hell difficulty.

But yes, set items should have a rigged place to drop.
