Suggestions for new items

    Yeah, to the forum, after ingame Gix sent us to express here.

    Multiple elite items have no unique correspondents. Like mirrored boots, wyrmhide boots, wyrmhide, archon plate and many more.
    I suggest adding uniques to these items. Before countering my idea, remember that in the D2 database there are unused uniques and other moddable stuff. For example Wyrmhide boots have an unique done called Merman's Sprocket. Which is in the database, but cannot drop from any mob.

    I will post further my idea after a staff member will review the possibility. Thank you!

    This idea was floated around before, however adding new uniques is only beneficial if the stats fill up some gaps in your gear for a certain build or need. Making caster type boots is not a smart move because you already have crafted boots. Creating such items makes other systems in the game irrelevant.

    One idea is to bring some non-class skills on these items, but then you have a new set of issues (at least from my experience with single player modded items) when certain animations screw up everything when used on a character that's not designed for. For example when Enigma was introduced, or Teleport items on charges, they had to make the animation for each class to look good and not bug out your character. What I'm saying is that if you want new skills that aren't on other type of items (magic, rare or crafted), therefore mitigated by the Devs, you could screw up the entire item.

    I would make an unique with life tap, other than gloves/shield, so you could wear crafted strength gloves and Hoz on your Smiter not worrying about that little crucial curse anymore. Maybe a body armor like Archon Plate with CB, OW, paladin bonuses (smite, charge, fanaticism, or even all skills) and life tap on chance, and why not some open sockets.
    Another item that may work, though it may be too much for this class/build, will be sorc fire helms. You have fire/cold/lightning elite uniques, and helms for lightning and cold, but no fire helms. Since fire sorcs are so dependent of fcr, one with fcr (and some strength bonus) will allow you to wear Coh and spirit.

    Ok. I'll throw in some ideas waiting for opinions from both players and staff.

    Unique Mirrored Boots - Steps of Grace

    +100-125% enhanced defense
    +35% faster run/walk
    +10% chance to cast level 10 teleport when struck. (yeah, that cursed basic Oculus chance is back :D)
    +15 Dexterity
    +15 Energy
    +10% of damage taken goes to mana
    +Increase maximum mana by 30%
    +-50% requirements

    Merman's Sprocket Wyrmhide Boots

    +30% faster run/walk
    +75-150 defense
    +5% chance to cast level 20 decripify when struck
    +10% chance to cast level 15 Slow missiles when struck
    +Slain monsters rest in peace
    +20-35% better chance of getting magic items.
    +-50% requirements

    Unique Coronet - Blazing Sun
    +3 to fire skills (not just sorc, any fireskills, just like Magefist does)
    +20-25% faster cast rate
    +10-15% to fire skill damage
    +1-2 sockets

    Crusader Gauntlets Unique - The Death Knight
    +15% deadly strike
    +15% crushing blow
    +15% open wounds
    +15% increased attack speed
    +-10% Maximum life (thats a decrease in max life, cause without it's they'd be sooo damned powerful)

    Circlet unique - Borgia's Crown
    +2 to all skills
    +10-15% poison skill damage
    +20-25% faster cast rate
    +Slain monsters rest in peace
    +Reduces poison length by 75%
    +75% poison resist

    Archon Plate Unique - The Grinder
    +1 to all skills
    +3 to holy shield(paladin only)
    +10% chance of crushing blow
    +10% chance of open wounds
    +35-60 to all resistances
    +20 dexterity
    +200% enhanced defense
    +socketed (1-3)

    And of course a runeword to vary some creations:

    Perfect Ten - Four socket armors - Vex + Ohm + Lo + Gul

    +10% max fire resists
    +10% max cold resist
    +10% max lightning resist
    +10% max poison resist
    +Damage reduced by 10%
    +10% bonus to atk rating
    +10 to all atributes
    +10 to all resistances
    +10 to life
    +10% chance to cast level 10 Frozen Armor when struck

    i thought we are not talking about op items. most items are for sorc/pala.
    there are already enough of those in pvp.

    better make some interesting items for not so common pvp chars.
    maybe a nice bow for a bow druid or something. this would be special.

    but upgrading the already op pvp chars with more op items is a bad idea.

    Dude these serve all classes. Adding stupid items to unfessable builds is silly. Serves all casters (which are very fragile to poison/physical damage combo) and the armor is a request from a player upper in this post, in order to have a "smiter's best" armor. I know that all noobos wanna telebarb and thats it, but this isn't the OP key to win. Just come, tele, hit, poison, come, hit, poison, tele and so on until you kill the most well armored target. Following to cry if you face a paladin with a bugged exile. Ignoring the fact that you're using the only damage which doesn't divide by six.

    still i think this will unbalance pvp even more.

    i'd like to see spear amas, shockwave druids or something like this in duel games. so maybe try to make a nice ama spear and not 3 fire 25 fcr 15% fire dmg 2 sock helm :thumbup: brb making a sorc now.


    these two items would be too op in duels:

    IF you want new items.. runewords it should be better to make some for unused builds.. like Bglzaborg said. Shockwave dudu, hydra // NOVA sorc, fire traper (or even a light traper.. finding magic katars is so damn annoying.. every class got his weapons (runewords or any unique) but not the trapsins some equivalent rw should be good))
    Okay here's my idea.. Perfect MAGIC katars are:

    2 to assassin
    40 IAS
    3 to Lightning Sentry
    3 to (lets say Mind Blast) optional
    3 to (lets say Fade) optional
    2 sockets (these 2 sockets can be filled with 2x 7fhr 15 all resist jewels)

    Here is an example of a runeword equivalent:

    3 socketed katars |||| Perfect Magic katar
    Shael + Jah + Ko ||||
    1 - 2 to Assassin Skills |||| 2 to assassin
    10 Dex (Ko rune) ||||
    20 - 40 Ias (Shael rune) |||| 40 Ias
    Ignore Target's Defense (Jah rune) ||||
    20 - 30 all resist |||| 30 all resist (from sockets)
    10 fhr |||| 14 fhr (from sockets)


    Some changes to tal rasha's can make it viable for hydra build
    +10 to hydra
    +1 to Mind Blast
    Go Go Hydra Traper :p

    Adding synergies to Nova can make it viable
    Telekinesis, Static Field and Thunderstorm.
    About exact percentages admins should test that :p to not make it too OP.

    Im not sure about shockwave druid.. if it was physical dmg.. we can create something (maybe set to prevent using it by other builds) with amplify dmg.

    Personally I find that claw idea good since 5ls and 6ls claws are almost impossible to find. However maybe other runes would be better since they aren't in many runewords for example : Sur Jah Ist (Sur is not that common in runewords).

    I agree with bgl too, IF new items are to be introduced, they should be aimed at the least played characters/builds.

    No sense in making even better the current OP builds...

    Yea ... i'd love to see the following chars : poison dagger necro , fire trapsin , singing barb , plaguezon , FoH bowazon - with Goldstrike Arch ( lol ,just for fun ) , throw barb , guided fire sorc, rabies druid , melee sorc etc...

    Still , you don't need any new items /runewords to build and play this characters :)

    Tafy, rabies druid do exist, man! In the past 2 week I had one. Good equipment and 19 shapes + torch and anix. He did around 60k with rabies.
    A throwing barb would be a good idea.
    I've been playing in a server when there was a fire trapsin build. Wake of Fire's Synergies was - Wake of Inferno 8%, Fire Blast 8%, Death Sentry 10%.
    Full maxed with skills assassin did around 10k. However in this server, with this inventory, synergies should be less powerful for example : Wake of Inferno 7-8, Fire Blast 7-8, Dead Sentry 7-8.
    There was also a singing barb build. More like war cry / ww barb. They were really interesting in pvp I gotta say. Really nice builds.
    It would be a win to add then to the server ;)

    I didn't read any of the posts besides the first one, so I apologize if this has already been said, but I strongly suggest not adding uniques where uniques dont already exist.

    Why you ask? Getting a +2/20 circlet with 2 sockets is SUPER hard already, now what if that item started always spawning as unique? The items that can't be unique get rolled as a rare when you kill council etc. so gg rares are still a possibility. There's already next to zero chance of getting a GG rare zerker or balrog blade, because those items already exist as uniques along with the normal and exceptional version. Lets not make GG rare items harder to obtain :)
