Voting For The Server

Hi guys

I'm curious. How did you find the server?

Me well, I Google'd "Diablo 2 Private Servers" then followed the "Top 10" links which brought me to this server. Now I really do like this server, with all the modifications which I believe have improved the game - well they have for me at least.

The thing is. I really don't like playing offline and come here for the social interaction. Naturally there are times when I, Just like anyone else just want a bit of solitude but that is not often.

The point is, If you, like me, want the server to prosper and constantly have new people join us then you need to take a few minutes each day and VOTE for the server. Come on guys please it really only takes a minute or two from your day.

PS. Anyone that wants to join us on Hardcore Eu. I will gladly help "Boost" you to get you under way. My enchanter gives a level 51 Enchant with over 5k damage and lasts over 22 minutes. My Druid can get you from level 8 to 80 in 1 hour 30 minutes and that's with all the side quests done.

 

Legit rushes in an hour and 30 minutes Ty Cj. I found the server the same way. I just started voting for it ever since you convinced me of being more active on website/forum!

Although I dont like voting reward systems. I have played many different games in private servers just like this one and I must say that it is a possible way to increase votes.

I know it sucks and that people should vote because they like the server but realistically... most users dont even come to the forums atleast they need some technical support or have any doubt/question.

Anyhow, I think a well-thought reward system could help the server get a lot more votes.

 

I've used a lot of forums in my day, More people come to website/forums when there is stuff that they can get from it. Not saying Rewards or anything, But if maybe it had Popular downloads for diablo players(different chat bots n whatnot) Or if it had people actively using it to help others(Threads for runs or if people are in search of help on something) It's not the fastest way to do things, but its just more things people are actively on here to do. More traffic, more votes, more votes more people, THEN MORE VOTES AGAIN! what whaaat!

 

The The XtremeTop100.com List will be reset in twelve hours. Lets try to get our server on the top of the list from the get go.

Hi! I am just found this server, and this topic. Forgive me please, if this feature already works here, and i not found it because of i am new here.

There are other private servers with good example for improving votes: vote points. When user votes, a banner can redirect it to this site, and site can grant point to that registered user. In most cases users can spend their vote points for items, premium support (forum stars, name colors), or anything. There is an item shop already works here for real money. Maybe vote points can be exchange by any rate..

 

Well, i dont know exactly, how it works. If it uses some gameserver related binary (communicating by tcp socket or so in the background), then this mission is impossible. If it uses only php server lib, then any website able to adopt it - in theory. If this is the case, and Xtreme provides some tuorial, how to build it into your website, it should not a huge problem to do that.

 

Comming back to this, I would like to point out that when you google for "Diablo 2 Game Symbol" or "Diablo 2 Game Symbol Private Server" the first link(s) should be urls to:

or even Diablo II

But its a lot harder to google search and find this server without using the voting top sites or if someone has told you about it.

Not sure if anything can be done so that google search tags give prefference to our server but I thought it was important to point out.

EDIT: The rest of googles suggestions under in that page and in the next ones dont have anything to do with this server either.

 

Well, i will have enough time to do it manually too if forum's engine not a full chaos of crappy script. Offering free help as programmer. Let me see, if it is so hard. Dont wait it will work on the first day, but it will work after a time.

I dont think so, voting starts abuse players, since no one is forced to do it, right? Player can use it, if want it, or forget it, if not want it. Just as now. Some reward may help for beginners, and thats all. Even if it become a useless thing in the end, it not harms anything. In worst case, wasting some of my time.

Of course, you should select carefully, what may reward for voting, and what not. For example a hell baal random charm (random type small / large / grand charm and random unid modifiers) vs 10 vote points, or random 5..9 pgems vs 1 vote point not necessarily ruins the game as player still need lucky too. Have some experience about gc rolling, right? Its all about balancing. Even if they trying to vote with many fake accounts, it cannot harm the system, as they will realize, handling pgems not really a great benefit after start time. If you interested, i tell you, _that_ is a great abuse In the end, it will just a passion 1-2 vote per day. You may also offer really value items for huge amount of vote points (for example a zod rune vs 2000), since those points need to be on one account. Just dont allow them to "donate" points amongst accounts. No one will really go for that 2k points. However it is still a nice sirene song (2k points take more than a whole year, its a christmas gift for hc loyal players.)
