Issue

I've installed the game, applied the patch, the installer, followed the instructions etc, but when I double click on EuropeBattleNet.exe the game isn't starting ... I've tried some in compatibility mode (SP 2 and SP 3) but in vain.

Btw, is this a romanian server ? :|

Your base version would have been 1.13d , all you need to do is replace the patch mpq (make a backup of the old incase you want to switch back).

Your best bet would be to download the popular BNet gateway editor and manually change the registry for the realms and set the Oblivion to chosen.
Another thing that might help is download the respective D2Loader and Run as Administrator, from there on no problems should occur on my empirical point of view.

If you are referring to the majority speaking romanian, no. Even though alot of players are from there, it is still international and as far as it concerns me, I only use english to communicate.

The Server itself is located in europe, as far as I know, and as Austrian player, my latency is around 105 ms most of the time, even though lagspikes occur occasionally.

I did use BNetEditor to add the server address... I am running as an Admin, but it's still taking around 5 minutes for the game to start and when it does the colors are fked up... I do not think that my PC specs aren't good enough... I can play Diablo 3 on it (Starter Edition xD ) ... So where did I messed up ?

And about the romanian thingy, I saw an Admin request so what I've thought of next was naturally xD

fist think you don't running like an admin click on battle net no on other multiplayer if you look like an admin that's the deal and because of this your connect on the server so mutch time.

and about the roumanian leangue . the server iz hosted in germany and first langue iz english so that's the important think

I used the manual install method, is EuropeBattleNet.exe its own program, or just a replacement shortcut for Diablo 2?

Can you launch Diablo 2 from the shortcut it puts on your desktop?

Diablo 2 doesn't give an error message if MPQ files are missing. Right click on your shortcut and choose "Open File Location". Ensure that folder is your Diablo 2 folder and that it contains all of the MPQ files.

Have you tried using Windowed mode? Right click on the shortcut, choose Properties, and add -w to the Target field, outside of the quotes. It should look something like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -w -res800

-res800 forces the game into 800x600 mode on launch, keeping the window centered.

If everything is OK with the above, try turning User Account Control off. Many older programs don't play well with UAC, as it interrupts their launch sequence.
