Problems related with Glide Wrapper Diablo II

    Greetings...

    I have got a problem since 4 days ago. My Diablo II runs pretty well with Glide Wrapper; However, I´ve tried to install it on a mate´s Pc (a low end Pc, indeed). The problem is that, after downloading the portable D2 version you have got here, moving all the Glide Wrapper files to the game´s directory as well as executing the server´s installer, their Fps are really low, around 1 fps (completely unplayable, indeed). We have tried to execute as admin, execute with Windows service pack 2, etc etc... Nothing worked. Furthermore, I read the Glide´s FAQ and It indicates that the issue could be related with graphic drivers. We dowloaded a Graphic card driver adapter by the control panel on device administrator. Windows demanded him to restart the computer.

    Magically, when he joined the game again, Their fps were 25, as they should be, but suddenly they went down to 1 fps seconds later. What would be the problem be? I mean, In theory, It can´t be a hardware issue because Diablo II should demand any heavy requirements for the game. Anyway, he has got only 2 GB of RAM memory and a Graphic card Radeon X1200 series (Windows 7). I´ll upload some images for that way you can see the prove of the issue:

    Hello. Extract the portable game archive again and only apply our server patch, do not install other 3rd party softwares such as glide for now. Try and see if the game works fine.
    You could also run D2VidTst.exe located inside of your game folder and switch to 2D for a difference then see the results. I also recommend you download the CPU Bug Fix from our tools page.

    We tried today these solution: run D2VidTst.exe and choose 2D option. He run it on windowed mode. The issue persisted.
    However, the first day he saw the task manager while running D II and it seems that his CPU usage was at 100%, what makes me think that your CPU Fix would be the solution to our problems considering that his Pc is a potato one. We´ll try it.

    The 1 FPS issue he's facing is not related to the game cpu bug but to GPU. This is something that people didn't even knew it existed before a fix was released, you can read more about that here.
    As I said, perform a complete reinstall of the game and do not apply glide wrapper before trying to run it as default.

    Yeah, you are right. He used the dll file, but It didn´t work. We reinstalled D2 without glide. When he executed it, he got this error message:

    The dll was just a recommendation for his low spec pc and it's not related to his issue. Now, if you google search that error you'll come up with several answers so first thing to do is make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package and Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 installed, however that OS might also need a fresh reinstall too if this action was not performed for a long time as some of the registry files may be corrupted as they explain it on the microsoft forums.

    Thank you for your reply. You are our only hope at this point really. Will check it out (Probably he hasn´t got any of these installed because He got his Pc not long ago and probably there are things that haven´t got installed). But, How does Diablo 2 use Visual C++ considering It´s a game from 2000?
