    Gem bags are our newest addition in terms of custom features and they are meant to ease your gameplay experience while still maintaining the realm's blizzlike concept. If you are one of those players who creates a dozen mule characters to store gems alone or you buy hundreds of them every day then you will find this very useful. Additionally, gem bags will make gems trading safer and faster as you will be able to trade hundreds of gems through the trade window. Important: We strongly recommend you to keep lower quantities of no more than a few hundred gems per each gem bag.

    Q: What can I do with a gem bag?
    A: You use it to store multiple gems, with a high limit of gems per bag but for your own safety it is best to store only a few hundred gems and use multiple bags instead.

    Q: Where can I get a gem bag from?
    A: Akara sells both gem bags and the gem remover.

    Q: How many gems can I store in a gem bag?
    A: We strongly recommend you to store only a few hundred gems per each bag and use multiple bags instead for safety purposes.

    Q: Can I store multiple gem types within the same bag?
    A: Yes, you can. In fact, you can store ALL 7 of them: amethyst, diamond, emerald, ruby, sapphire, topaz, and skull within the same bag.

    Q: Can I store multiple gem qualities within the same bag?
    A: Yes, you can but they all have to be the same type. All extracted gems will be perfect, you can skip upgrading individual gems to perfect quality in this case.

    Q: How do I add gems into my gem bag?
    A: Open your horadric cube and transmute the following items: 1 gem bag + 1 or more gems. Any quality you want just make sure they all match the same type.
    Example: 1 Gem Bag + 1 Chipped Emerald + 1 Flawed Emerald + 1 Emerald + 1 Flawless Emerald + 1 Perfect Emerald => 1 Gem Bag + 5 Emeralds
    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Q: How do I remove gems from my gem bag?
    A: Using the gem remover, sold by Akara.
    Open your horadric cube and transmute the following items: 1 gem bag + 1 gem remover. This will output three items, taking the gem out of the bag.

    Q: Akara only sells amethyst gem remover, how can I remove other types of gems?
    A: Open your horadric cube and place only the gem remover inside then hit transmute and the removal type will change.

    [IMG] [IMG]

    Q: How do I remove a different gem type or quality from my bag?
    A: The gem remover is compatible with all gem qualities as for the gem type simply transmute the gem remover alone inside the horadric cube until you get the removal type you need.

    [IMG] [IMG]

    Q: Can I add more than one gem into my gem bag at the same time?
    A: Yes, you can. You may cube up to 80 same type gems at once into a bag.

    Q: Can I remove more than one gem from my gems bag at the same time?
    A: Unfortunately due to game limitations the maximum cube output is capped at 3 items so the gem bag, gem remover and gem itself are already reaching together the game output limit.

    Q: How can I add or remove gems faster inside the horadric cube?
    A: Download one of the maphacks available on our website tools page as they allow you to perform one-click item movements and speed up the process by a lot.

    Q: My maphack throws an "unknown item code" error message, how can I fix it?
    A: If you are using an older version of BH Maphack make sure to download the latest updated one from our website or you may simply use STING Maphack which is error free http://europebattle.net/d2/tools

    It is a good idea indeed, to ease up the use of gems. Only one objection: it would be perfect if we could use the gem bag directly to craft (for example to put a grand charm and the bag in the cube and transmute directly) for the time economy.

    The reason of the bag is to be more easy to use trade window and not droping them.

    Not sure about that, I've did some research and seems modders are unable to code something that would copy the horadric cube functions.

    The bags sure look nice, however, I just cant see why would anyone use any other bag then the "perfect one". Would it maybe be possible to make a bag that would take all the gem types in and then with the remover it would only spit out perfects?

    Agreed, most will use the perfect gems bag but some could also use the chipped one too. If you're talking about gem types then one bag can support all of them as long as their quality is the same but this has already been answered inside of the guide.

    Code:
    GB1 = Chipped Gem Bag
    GB2 = Flawed Gem Bag
    GB3 = Normal Gem Bag
    GB4 = Flawless Gem Bag
    GB5 = Perfect Gem Bag

    GR00 = Gem Remover
    GR01 = Gem Remover
    GR02 = Gem Remover
    GR03 = Gem Remover
    GR04 = Gem Remover
    GR05 = Gem Remover
    GR06 = Gem Remover

    fac = Fire Aura Charm
    tac = Fist Aura Charm
    eac = Evil Aura Charm

    Yes that much I understood from the guide. What I meant by "all gem types" was actually both types and quality (my bad, sorry!). It would be incredibly convenient to just put all gems(types and quality) into a single bag that would "automatically upgrade" them to perfect in the moment they are extracted from the bag, thus allowing people to skip the manual upgrading in cube. Would something like that be within the game limitations or it is too much of an interference?

    Accepting all gem qualities within the same bag could be a possibility in the future as currently the description of the bag would fill the whole screen if it would accept all qualities and sort them but we might turn the chipped/flawed/normal/flawless gem into a perfect one upon extraction from a a bag in the future or find a better way to approach this.

    While I do understand your demands, I think that cubing gems is already easy enough. TBH, If it is not possible to put gems of all qualities into one bag, then I dont see any reason not to perfect all gems first and put them into one bag... It seems faster than having 5 different bags and perfecting each gem using remover.

    Okay now thats is a very valid point right there, but I though the whole idea of gem bags was to make trading easier, therefore if you decided to store the gems in the "5 different bags" as you put it, you wouldn't do so in order to have the gems upgraded for yourself (in which case just cubing is obviously a better option), but rather in order for you to not to have to cube them before you trade them to somebody else, who has to take the gems out of the bag via cube anyways... so why not save some time and merge the process of upgrading and extracting?
    As for the all quality and type part, I do not understand the underlying mechanism of cubing and storing of the gems(are they like "physically" stored in the bag? is it just a number eg +1 amethyst? I dont know) to say if it is truly impossible, but if the quality was irrelevant (since the output would always be a PG) then I was thinking there might be a way maybe? If there is none I am very sorry to waste your time shall remain silent forever :D
    Also please dont get me wrong, Im making no demands, its just an idea I probably should have shared in a different thread ^^

    Just an update on this one, you can use BH Maphack by Underbent or the default version of BH as these won't throw any errors about the unknown item code.
    To activate advanced items display open BH.cfg and edit the following line so you can use your ItemDisplay.cfg filter:

    Sting MH uses CTRL + click
    BH uses SHIFT + click
