As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, I wanted to take a moment to recognize and appreciate the incredible journey we've shared. Two decades ago, we ventured into the dark and mysterious world of Sanctuary, and what a journey it's been! From the early days of battling on dial-up connections to the high-speed adventures of today, our community has grown stronger with each passing year.

The bonds we've forged, the epic loot we've discovered, and the countless demons we've vanquished have all been part of what makes this community so special. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a newcomer, each one of you has brought something unique and valuable to our world.

Special shoutout to our fearless leader, Gix, whose tireless efforts and unwavering dedication have kept our community thriving. Like a true Barbarian, Gix's strength and determination have guided us through every challenge, ensuring our community remains a place of friendship and adventure.

Honestly, its pretty hard to pick and choose between all those amazing memories.

I made so many good freinds here, all the endless nights of baal runs, to the nights spend on re-rolling grand charms together, fun fact that back in the good old days 40 pgems went for vex and was dropped from the seller directly and sometimes we were not fast enough with the lot and they got deleted from the ground lol.

But if i had to pick one memory as numbero uno, it must be when me and my good freind @HLDman managed to roll a JMOD after pain, sweat and tears, nights of great conversations and the most important thing of it all, the start of a great freindship.

@NoCopyRight Old boys in the wild west, Chicken legs or not, our conversations and time together i will always remember.

@Gix we had our good and bad conversations over the years, we always found a middle ground and a way to solve things, you are also apriciated and placed in the book of memories for me.

@kiwifruit we had some great talks, and alot of personal conversations and trades, you are also someone to remember.

Alot of other members i have great memories with, you all know who you are, and our shared memories will be stored with me forever.

Funny story about one of the players.
So there was this legendary player on Europe Battle.net known as -DBB. He had this peculiar ritual—he’d grind endlessly, building up characters like a madman, hoarding the rarest loot. Every ladder reset, it was the same: hours in Baal runs, trading for high runes, and flexing perfect gear sets like it was a fashion show. Then one day, out of nowhere, he deleted all his characters. Just like that—poof! Gone. All those runewords, GG charms, and Enigma-clad builds vanished into the void. But he wasn’t done. Oh no. He logged in, sold everything for peanuts. Why? No one knew. Rage quit? Existential crisis? Maybe he wanted to “touch grass” for a while. But here’s the kicker. A few months later, like clockwork, -DBB was back. New account, same obsession. Grinding like a lunatic, trading aggressively, and assembling another god-tier stash. He didn’t miss a beat. Players couldn’t help but laugh, “He’s like Diablo II’s version of a phoenix—except the ashes are SOJs and the flames are Baal runs.” This cycle became his trademark, and he weirdly earned respect for his absurd resets. It was like he was playing the game on hard mode. Some players swore he just enjoyed the thrill of starting fresh, while others thought he had a thing for digital self-destruction. Whatever the reason, -DBB became a legend not for his loot or skills, but for proving that even in the eternal grind of Diablo II, some people just want to watch the (Hellfire) world burn.

Ever since I started playing Diablo 2 on EuropeBattle, I’ve been drawn to one character above all others: the Necromancer. There’s just something about controlling the undead and commanding armies of skeletons and golems that always fascinated me. From the very first time I played him, I knew he was my character. I’ve spent countless hours perfecting my Necromancer builds, tweaking strategies, and raising the dead in every game I joined. The sense of control and power was like no other, and it made every battle feel like a personal triumph.

But there’s one memory that stands out above the rest. It was one of those rare moments where everything aligned perfectly. I was in a game with a few random players, just clearing the chaos of the hell mode, when something unbelievable happened: I got three Jah runes to drop in the same game. I couldn’t believe my eyes at first—I thought it was some kind of joke. But there they were, all three, sitting on the ground waiting for me to pick them up.

The excitement was unreal, and I’ll never forget the thrill of that moment. My friends in the game were as stunned as I was, and we all had to take a moment to soak it in. I’ll always treasure that memory because it wasn’t just about the loot, but the shared experience of being part of such a vibrant, unpredictable community. The joy, the laughter, and the camaraderie we had in that game were what made it unforgettable. The Necromancer has always been my favorite character, but that day, I felt like I was in the middle of something truly magical in the EuropeBattle community.

I also just want to take a moment to say how much I absolutely love the EuropeBattle server. It's more than just a place to play Diablo 2—it's where I’ve made lasting friendships and unforgettable memories. The community, the players, and the constant support from the admins have made it feel like a second home to me. Every time I log in, I know I'm going to have a great time, whether I’m grinding for loot, teaming up for tough battles, or just chatting with friends. EuropeBattle has given me so many amazing moments, and I can't imagine playing anywhere else. Thanks for creating such a fantastic space for all of us to enjoy Diablo 2 to its fullest!

Hi everyone! I think I'm the oldest after @Gix and @Ezekiel (It fills me with pride to continue here). I feel like a lifetime has passed, so much time on this server and this community (10+ years)... it makes me nostalgic and makes me think of all the moments lived on the server. First of all I want to thank all the people who were always there, playing, chatting, establishing enriching moments for our community. You know well that it is each of you who gives life to this server. That's why I'm grateful that such a beautiful space is kept alive to share and have fun... and also to forget the bad times that sometimes come our way in real life. I just hope that our community and all our people are always present, because it is our place apart, where comfort and addiction flourish. In these ten years I came and went many times, but I always returned to my virtual home, which is this one. It seems little but more than ten years is a long time, it's just that playing this beautiful game went by quickly.
Thank you to each of you, because without the community it would only be "single player", it would not be the same. Feel proud and grateful, because there are not many communities that are more than 20 years old, that are still active! That shows everyone's commitment to making this work.

FAVORiTE MEMORY.

Well... in this case it is difficult to choose, among so many moments lived and so many memories to tell, so many people who were there and who are no longer here, but are still remembered. That's the best part of this, the memories... and that's what I'm left with, the nostalgia (I love you guys so much :'] ) and the addiction for this beautiful game, obviously. But if I have to choose my best memories, they are when I was a game master, which started in 2016. How beautiful it was when we connected on TeamSpeak. I was waiting for every night to arrive so I could connect to talk to my friends on the staff, who also made me learn English, lol!
Especially one night when I stayed talking for hours and hours with Gix and at one point I told him I was going to the "badroom" (I meant bathroom) and he clearly found it funny! Then the conversation continued like this:

Thanks to all the STAFF, those who were there and those who continue to be there. That they do an excellent job and are not obligated, they do it out of love for the community and encourage respect. They deserve that applause! Sometimes I want to go back to what I used to, but my job makes my stay in the community unstable. That's why I abstain. I know that in some way I will always be present for everyone and I will help in any way I can, from my place! A big hug.

For a community that old it is impossible to wish longevity, as it already has it. It is impossible to wish diversity, as it already has it. It is impossible to wish endurance - as it have already proved itself. What I can wish is challenges, as great challenges can create new opportunities for growth and even better increase both the players' satisfaction and possibilities to enjoy.
What I can wish is nostalgia, as players' nostalgia is what brings us all back here.
What I can wish is curiosity, as Diablo is a game of constant expectation of the greatest drop while tirelessly grinding for it.

So to the team - be filled with curiosity, while solving the challenges of nostalgia! And to the next 20!

 

FAVOURITE MEMORY

As I will mention it once again my time spent here have not been long while filled with experience - a friendly person gave me most of my base equipment, friendly people all over the forum are answering my stupidest questions based on my more than 15 years of not playing, friendly Gix have connected remotely to my laptop trying to fix my drop issues (and did!). What is most memorable, is that I've found a friend, not that distant but a close neighbour, that apart from giving a helping hand with stuff and helping advise with my struggles have been sipping wine on the other side of the border with me almost every night through the week (you know who you are buddy!) So here my favourite memory will be friendliness - all around, all from the start, all but that!
