Hi! New to this server,older player

    Hi all,
    My name's Marius,but online I'm Baphomet :cool:
    I am thinking about playing some D2 again,I saw this server and I was thinking if people are still active,the last post here is ~2024....

    Some questions if people still play :

    Can I change the resolution in this server? I'm currently rocking a 4k monitor and the resolution of D2 is atrocious on 4k monitors.
    Should I know things before starting?
    Any information is greatly appreciated.

    Welcome Marius:) introduce yourself forum posts are not very common I think because many join directly the game :p You can use widescreen resolution here and if it's too small for the monitor you can make it full with D2GL or use glide from launcher
    if you are new you should know gems and junk jewels have value here and gold too, make ancients level and we will help you with a rush if you need one or some start items
    Read guides about eth bugging and the new starting player guide (this helped me a lot too) and you can download maphack from site + loot config https://europebattle.net/d2/tools

    Hello and welcome Marius,
    I will keep it short as its easter weekend here and I might not be around a computer until next week.
    Tldr; I had to use 4k monitor and I hated it.
    From memory I ended up upscaling my display resolution while playing on it. Like the "text / font" scaling that laptops sometimes have at 125% I pumped to 200% or more. Once I get online I can try to give you more details on how I made it bearable, but there was also a way to set larger window resolution for D2 only without affecting everything else.
    ~ I found myself this server in the covid year 2020 and I was pleasantly surprised as it has a helpful community. From the first rush (without asking for the rune from act 4) to in depth duel tips.
    My first suggestion, after making that window bigger, is to ask for enchant and some waypoints. Even if you want to remind yourself the game and experience it solo, I find it more fun to end up sooner on Hell.
    Good luck, have fun and do ask for help and tips. Many of our players here are helpful and it makes a decent community.

    Hello and welcome aboard @Baphomet. The game may be old but there are still plenty of people playing it as for your question DDraw and D2GL allows you to customize your game window size if you wish to go window mode. @kiwifruit's suggestion on scaling display resolution should also provide some help in that matter.

    Hi all,
    Thanks for the answers,is there anywhere where it's posted on how to do widescreen? I'm not sure how to enable it,what is the max size of the widescreen resolution,I'm thinking 1280x720 should be decently....my current monitor is 32" so even if it's small it's bigger than what d2 windowed (that I used to play since d2 before lod) :)has as an option

    Also,the last time I played d2 windowed (in ~2019-2020) when I pressed the inventory key,the mouse moved out of the playing window,can that be prevented?

    Hi and welcome back,
    I believe with the latest patch 'widescreen' is integrated and there is no need to install separate tool for it.
    Use the launcher to start the game and it will update to the latest version if needed (restart the game after update)
    A lot of useful info if you check the 'Guides' section of the forum
