    Hello,

I've ran into an issue where I receive the following error upon trying to connect to the private server:

    UNHANDLED EXCPETION:
    ACCESS_VIOLATION (c0000005)

I have searched the forum and found one thread saying to delete all data and re-install. I have tried this and I get the same error. I am running windows 8, I've tried running compatibility for windows xp sp2, I've been running windowed mode every time.

The strange thing is that I have been able to connect just fine for the last week, but today I just started getting this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If more information is needed let me know. Thank you.

Windows 8 or 8.1? Have you uninstalled (instead of deleting) and re-installed the game into a different HDD partition?

I suppose you get that error when you try launching the game right? As I find a bit weird to think that you get the error when you actually press the connect button inside the game.

Anyway a fast google search comed up with this guide https://plus.google.com/+CJSouthPhoto/posts/HFpud41zsM1 (Step 3)

If that doesn't work, hit this link and see some more guides https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=diablo2+UNHANDLED+EXCPETION:+ACCESS_VIOLATION+(c0000005)

Let us know which one worked for you
