Announcement Diablo II Ladder Reset - 27 October 2023

Heroes of Sanctuary, the Lord of Terror welcomes you to a new adventure ... Season 10 begins on Friday, 27 October 2023. Get ready for the ladder reset!
Alongside the ladder reset we will be releasing a new realm patch, changelog will be available in the coming week. Among the changes are various updates for each class, new Rune Words, fresh Horadric Cube Recipes, Mercenary reworks, and much more!



On the day of Friday, October 27th, we’ll be conducting a maintenance in order to reset the Diablo II ladder. The realm will be unavailable for a few minutes and during this time all existing ladder characters will be converted to non-ladder. All characters and items being converted to non-ladder will remain intact so they will not be lost, but once converted these characters will no longer have access to ladder content such as ladder-only rune words. Please keep in mind that due to our long-term ladders, the vast majority of our players are playing ladder characters only.

This ladder reset, like all those before it, creates a clean slate where all ladder characters begin at level 1 with no previous items to help them. To participate, simply wait until the Diablo II realms return to service on October 27, log in to the server, and select the “Ladder Character” checkbox when creating a new character. You can track ladder character leveling progress by clicking on the Ladder button from the main Diablo II in-game interface. You won't need to change anything on your side, you will still be able to log in with the same accounts that you own and use the same game version. To participate in the new season all you have to do is create a new Ladder Character once the ladder has been reset and if you wish to use your old nickname you can delete your previous non-ladder character and take back your name.

@Olszax, you can always play both difficulties. Softcore is more popular for obvious reasons, as not everyone is ready to lose most if not all of their progress if they die once, but Hardcore also has a dedicated community. Pick whichever one you like more http://europebattle.net/d2/faq

The answer is yes, @sirius_A, there will be. With some slight modifications towards the overpowered features though, as it's the case of the mosaic runeword for example.
