Solved An issue + Question

To change your maphack settings simply edit the d2hackmap.cfg inside the mh folder, doesn't matter if you got the standalone or the integrated mh version. (different tips are also posted over the forums) Rates are blizzlike mostly, the changes being written on both website and forum, the exp is higher and due to that, higher population and other different factors you might have a better drop as well even if the drops were not altered directly inside the patch which is a clean blizzlike patch that we worked over. Don't worry as it will get harder by leveling up, like some people are having a nightmare in terms of drops while some may be a lot happier as it's your case, however you won't get bored for sure. Also remember that some people are playing here ever since the ladder started so in about 2 years or atleast some months it's impossible not to get some good items including perfect ones to spare for new players thanks to a great community that helps newcomers a lot.
As for your act5 error, not sure, try getting the stand alone maphack (check the forum thread) as you don't need the integrated one unless you are having issues with the normal mh which mostly happens on windows 8.1 and disable it while speaking to the potion vendor. If that still doesn't work, perform a complete uninstall (remember to delete registry as well) followed by a clean install, applying 1.13c patch and then our server patch.

 

Did you made sure to delete or uncomment the chicken lines? Chicken option isn't an on/off setting but rather deleting, uncommenting the lines completly. As for the items, make the right adjustments.
Maybe you're editing the wrong cfg which isn't attached to the mh you're using, just redownload the maphack from the forums just to be sure and take it from there.
