Solved Autotele plugin injector (error code 5)

    AutoTeleport 1.4.1, "Inject into All" or specific process inject tells me this:

    OpenProcess() failed with error code 5
    Failed to inject AutoTeleport.dll into Diablo II(HWND: 5A082A)

    Not sure how old this issue is. This injector was fine a month ago or so. Now, it is not. Anyone idea?

    You must whitelist it (= add it to exceptions) in your antivirus.

    Not sure, what this whitelisting is.

    I have only windows 10 and its own protection tools. I did not install any additional virus protection.

    The injector's folder is on the exception list, to prevent windows 10 dropping it into quarantine.

    Google says that's an "access denied" error. Are you running both the game and the injector as administrator? Additionally, turn off your UAC and see if the same things happen.
    If the injector was running fine a month ago, then either a windows update or other changes you've made have caused this and most likely reset the software permissions. You could also try removing and adding the injector folder again to your windows defender exceptions list, maybe that would help.

    It seems, I did not run it as administrator, and that was the problem. I checked the game shortcut and found the "Run as administrator" checkbox empty. Probably, result of an accidental quarantine of my whole gaming folder. Fixed, thanks.
