Solved can t open game/can t connect

    Hello!
    so i installed the game, i used the automatic installer to get the sv patch.
    when i try to open loader.exe/any other executable in the folder that i just installed for the server, the protection knight pops up in the left corner, the he cames in the middle of the screen and after he goes away nothing else happens. ( i am having windows 8.1 . it's the same wheter i use i with normal settings or i put in the accesib sp2 and adminstrator)
    if i try to open the normal diablo2 and diablo 2 lod from desktop from normal installation they open just fine after i put in the settingswith accesibility sp2 blabla. i open bnet. i type my password. almost thought i could play:)). when i create/join i get unhandled error etc.
    reinstalled. used manual steps to get the server patch. SAME
    tried that with data prevention too. still nothing. please help!!!!!!!!

    You can't create/join games with the normal diablo2 executable, you will need to start it with our loader (either usabattle.exe or europebattle.exe)
    Not sure about what protection you are talking about so it's a good idea to include some screenshots and a better detailed description as well.

    The connect guide and fix common errors of the game thread should explain everything.

    well i followed all the steps for common errors and nothing.
    i don t actually have anything at all to screenshoot because as i said when i use the loader.exe, the knight from nprotectgameguard pops up and after that, nothing, just my desktop:)). the game won t start.
    the protection i am talking about is :
    "Fix: Considering that your game has been installed correctly and both the v1.13c blizzard patch and our realm patch have been applied, turn ON the Data Execution Prevention and add all Diablo II executable files to exception list.

    Go under My Computer> System Properties> System Protection > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Data Execution Prevention> Turn ON Data Execution Prevention

    Additionaly, launch the game in window mode, set Compatibility to Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and Run the program as administrator."

    First of all try to delete the diablo 2 and all his content.
    I had same problem man, and just reinstal the game like this
    1. Instal game
    2. Patch with LOD 1.13c
    3. Instal our Patch
    4. After you patch the game it will make a shortcut on desktop make that "Run as administrator" with -w ofc and it should work no problem.

    @balaaa, the DEP fix applies under certain conditions and yours doesn't seem to be one of those conditions.

    As @Atox said, it's best to uninstall the game completly (don't forget to delete the registry files as well because most people forget about that) then reinstall it under a different folder, patch it to 1.13c and then get our server patch and either install it inside your d2 folder or extract it there if you get the .zip file. If you're running an antivirus add the D2 folder to exceptions just to be sure. I know that Windows 8.1 sucks hard but we still have a lot of players running it just fine.

    so now it's working. I was having a noob problem:))) ( won t tell you guys what was it)
    but thanks everyone for helping and for the quick responses!

    P.S. : I don t really know how to change the maphack cfg, i use the integrated v1. can anyone help me just remove seeing on the floor : ALL gold and ALL mana and health potions and other crappy poison etc potions? please be nice, it's Christmas :)))

    In the folder with diablo 2 u find the maphack and he's cfg. But i think if you press ctrl it should work for you.
    Hope I am right.

    Download and install the V2 integrated maphack (better in my opinion) and just press control once in-game and all the the crap will be disabled from showing.

    game is working, maphack is working THANKS!!!!!! autotele is working!!!!!
    one last question and i m done, ANY way to play in fullscreen?..

    Well you need to play with the loader on our server and the loader cannot be full screen, so no you can't.

    Why don't you share your "noob problem" just in case someone else might have it one day?

    Simply start the europebattle.exe / usabattle.exe inside the Diablo II folder (not the desktop shortcut that includes -w parameter)

    well i was installing the server patch to another folder..stupid right? dunno why i misunderstood while reading the instructions on the site..
