Cant connect to game

    I installed once again this game and completed all the steps but when I hit the battlenet button this error pops up

    What to do?

    I have the 1.13c patct, server patch, bngateway editor set to your adress and everything.

    Hello Bahoes!

    The loader you are using. Go into the "Properties" and change it too "Run as administrator" and also in "Compatibility" change it to run in "Windows XP Service pack 2" :)

    Okay no problem! :) Additionally, launch the game in window mode.. and if that doesnt work another possible fix is adding your D2 folder into your DEP.

    Go under My Computer> System Properties> System Protection > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Data Execution Prevention> Turn ON Data Execution Prevention

    Done with that too, now I can enter the server, chat too, but when I create games it gives me this:

    The first thing you should try is running the Diablo II Video Test again by running D2VidTst.exe from your Diablo II folder and selecting "Direct Draw 2D"
    The next thing you could try is using the Glider Wrapper: Glide3-to-OpenGL-Wrapper Follow those instructions and see if that works.
    Running it in Window Mode, Changing the Compatibility Settings, Disabling 256 Colors, Running As Administrator, and Changing your screen resolution manually are some other things you can try doing. If none of those work I advise completely reinstalling the game and patches over again.

    Always check the important links from the website: FIX Common D2 Errors


    Make sure you use our launcher to connect so you can create/join games.
    Also make sure to add your D2 folder into your antivirus exceptions list (the first SS error looks like you're using bitdefender and you haven't added the d2 folder into exceptions list)

    Well I installed everything from 1.13c patch to your patch_d2.mpq, but the problem was from that TDAGameguard. Thanks to all ^_^ see ya in game *Bahahaos.

    Well not yet, so I'm playing in window mode with mouse capture and when I create the game and play sting maphack it crushes again and again with the same error @_@ wtf is wrong with windows 8?

    You should have mentioned you're using the crappy Windows 8 from the first time. Horrible OS so don't be that surprised you get errors when running really old games (even on new ones, this os sucks a lot) on W8.

    Anyway the problem was not from the GameGuard since you were able to login and actually get into the main DII channel.

    If you got a gameguard issue that usually has two reasons:
    1. using an old broken windowx sp build (changing the xp build will fix it)
    2. some antiviruses require that you add the gameguard files and the entire d2 folder inside the antivirus exceptions list (simply adding the d2 folder to that list fixes it)

    In your case it had to do with xC000005 error which was caused by running with non-administrator rights or requiring to be added into DEP exeptions list.


    As @Jesus said, download the integrated maphack version. That works like a charm for W8 or try looking for BH Maphack which have been reported to work fine on W8.
    You may also try running them separately but make sure you run both the game and sting maphack as administrator. If it doesn't work stick to the integrated maphack version.

    I finally did it, now I can play with sting mh and window mode thanks to you guys ^_^ Good JOB!
