Solved Can't play

I discovered this Server only a few days ago so i tried it and the first install went fine and i was able to play and i did a few sessions, meaning i closed the game several times and restarted without failure. except for some odd color issues un the menu everything looked great. No D2 had been installed on this machine before a few days ago. The second day i tried the maphack that was provided by this site, that's when problems started. When i opened the launcher a webpage opened and told me a cheat had been discovered, wasnt able to get in the game. well okay, but as far as i was enlightened MH was allowed on this server since it's even provided. so i removed it and then i was able to get into the game menu, but i was unable to connect to the server and got the ingame message. unable to connect...or something. Since then i removed and reinstalled the game 3 times over, tried to remove reg and re add,... no succes yet. today without doing anything different, the game won't even launch anymore and says gameguard has stopped working. APPCRASH. So its getting worse.

Yes, i'm doing the drill everytime, i install the provided files from the site in the right order, i do operate and run files as administrator as required.
My system is running on win7. It had worked, so it should be able to today but i don't know what changed after the maphack that screwed everything up.

Can you guys tell me what i can do to resolve this, or do you need more specific information?
I'm not a pc guru so i'll require exact info to follow. Thanks.

 

Alright Installing it this way worked. I guess the registry and or other foldername did the trick.
At least i can play again : ) Thank you for the fast reply.

but...
-I'd like to play in fullscreen mode, and i saw there's also a glide thingy to get better quality when doing so.
-As for the maphack, i downloaded the Sting Maphack from the site here, so i don't know better alternatives, i aslo haven't been able to use it so i don't know what's best.

How do i proceed without messing it up again?

 

Alrighty, the maphack works but starting the game fullscreen doesn't.
it gives me a window stating :

and that's it. doesnt work with the shortcut to game, nor the edited existing shortcut.

 

Well i have a pretty large native resolution, which makes the maximum 800x600 res a really tiny window. i cant seem to resize or stretch it either. so playing the game like this is pretty intense for my eyes : )

I tried directly, and i tried shortcuts from the desktop too for all executables.

 

This time, placing the glide dll in the folder made all my problems go away. I did nothing else. Its unclear what the issue was, yet i'm now able to play in either fullscreen or windowed mode but at larger resolution. Works both through shortcuts and directly from folder. Thank you for your input.
