Diablo 2 Auto-closing after approximately 6 hours

    Hello guys,
    me and few friends have this issue, with the game auto-closing after being opened for 5-6 hours which kinda ruins open game sales.
    We run the integrated maphack version, this could be 1 reason i suppose.
    Other than that - nothing else changed on the game(downloaded from thread).

    Anyone experiencing same issues, or have a fix?

    That's not much info to work with but you can always get a different client, reinstall and try w/o maphack to see if it gets any better. One thing you should always mention first when asking for help is the operating system you are using. If you and your friends are part of the same network or use the same internet provider and you all get the same 5-6 hours interval then in case of longer connection hiccups or small downtimes that could make the client go unresponsive and close itself.

    Sorry, skipped basic troubleshooting 101:
    OSes- 1 Win XP, 1 Win 7, 1 Win10
    3 different ISPs
    Will do a clean install and test without mh.
    I'll update the thread later

    I have different issue,my diablo closes randomly sometimes after 2hours sometimes after 13hour sometimes after 3days sometimes after 4minutes.

    It is always in fight after items drop on ground.

    Hello,
    after the test:
    I had 1 Diablo 2 with integrated MH loaded for arround 4 hours.
    I had 1 Diablo 2 clean with no mh loaded for about 2 and a half hours.

    So, both games were auto-closed at the same time.
    The only common thing was the GameGuard.

    GameGuard protection? Idle close? Any suggestions?

    Check the gameguard logs then and see if you find any software name in there that could close the game, additionally you could close all processes while running diablo2 and see if that still happens. You must have some common issue together if all 3 of you get it at the same aproximate time, which isn't normal, could be rootkits that change game files, maybe some other game you guys are running and before reinstall should also clean up registry.

    GameGuard closes it for some reason. Everybody I have talked to experiences this issue. Got a friend that played on another server with the same game, there he didn't have any problems, when he came here - game started closing like this. I have tried it after multiple re-installs of operating system ( few different ones too ) , with minimal software ( ie Skype and Opera ) it still closes. I don't experience it as much, but it happens every day.

    Looking forward for solution to this problem. I do have it as well but its in much lower interval 1-2 Hours not more.
    It (the gameguard) automaticly closes all my launchers at the same time. Been using only integrated maphack and no other software beside my video/sound and keyboard/mouse drivers-programs. Win 8.1 atm (tested on windows 7 as well - no difference). Also tested different clients from different sources and actual clean installation (trough cds) right after reinstalling my windows (w/o any possible registries). Also noticed some friends (from different citys etc.) getting the same crash at the same time as me.

    Well, debugging this is not easy since there are hundred of people that don't get it and and I don't get it either (also tested on all operating system that are used by the home users) which makes it harder to replicate the scenario but those who have this problem feel free to send me a private message with the file named gameguard.log attached (can be found inside your diablo installation folder) and I'll pass it to the developer maybe there is some information there. There will be a new gameguard update coming soon (no ETA) too and maybe that will fix it for those who experience this behaviour since structure is different.

    I've experienced this same thing on multiple occasions, but for me it's never been on some specific period of time, just very random.

    I don't know if this will help, but when it happens both my D2 client and TopazChat get closed.

    The problem really seems to be with the gameguard, after some research, it happens on multiple other games too.
    It isn't really that big of a deal for me, but it's a slight annoyance :)
    Tried converting the log file from korean to english, with no success, probably is also encrypted. Will send via pm to Gix
