Having same issue as other threads stated and tried every suggestion made to resolve this issue including several re installs, allowing permissions, firewalls, avast security. There was no explanation that I read on how these players solved this problem, just on the reason the connection was being blocked, or that the issue was solved privately. Was working just fine around October last year before i gave d2 a break, and I haven't made any changes to my pc or network.

It sounds like you've tried quite a few steps - I wouldn't mind offering some private assistance to try and help resolve for you. If you'd like me to give it a shot, send me a PM.

@Kman1134, some of those suggestions are solutions that worked for those players who marked their issue as solved however there isn't really a direct single solution or explanation for this because there could be different reasons that may cause for an application to experience connection restrictions. For example in this post, connection was blocked by the windows defender so in this case he had allow permission and exclude the game folder. You can also try following these steps if you haven't yet. In a different scenario, it was the router that caused issues and the provider itself that had something to do with that as you can see here, though no further explanation has been given in this case because we can't know what kind of changes could the provider do on their side to cause that and it may be related to blocked ports, nodes or connections.
Are you able to switch to your mobile internet 3G/4G and see if you can connect from there?

The 4G connection didn't work. So It works on my laptop with no issues, didn't have to change anything other than compatibility. I guess that eliminates everything I have been trying to change because its basically the same setup as my desktop as far as OS, security, and both are on WiFi. Ill see what other options I can think of to resolve this. Can't play on my laptop because its old and overheats when gaming on it.

@Kman1134, that's a good thing because now we know it's not some isp or router restriction so the issue is isolated to the desktop setup and most likely some piece of software since you're able to run the game just fine on your laptop. Drop me a private message with a temporary skype address or so and I'll take a look at it remotely hopefully later today.

Got it working. I deleted every d2 file I could find and went into the registry and wiped all that too. My guess is that along the line of trying to update the new patch I ended up changing the directory of where d2 was located and it wasn't reading the game properly in the registry. Dunno, all is good though. :)
