Solved having problems with this game also

    I downlaoded the portable d2 you guys have plus the pathches and followed everything. When I goto connect it loads a little and then closes the windows

    In window mode is says connect exception (firewall is off) or the windows just closes
    When i go to play it in big mode it just connects with the ap but never opens d2

    Running windows 7

    Are you running launcher in admin mode? Have you tried setting compatibility to WinXP SP2? Maybe try changing Windows DEP settings to only essential Microsoft services? Have any anti-virus running that may be blocking it? I'm running Win 8.1 but here's my launcher settings for reference.

    going to try what you said, i was running in admin mode, just one min
    Where is the Windows DEP settings?

    ***Nope didnt work***

    Might have got something. Turned virus proggy off, now checking.
    Worked but there are no games showing. There are a bunch of people on tho.

    "Connect Exception" is a bitdefender specific error so he definetly open this thread before reading the common fixes listed by us on the join page.
    Make sure you create a ladder character and keep in mind that SC has a bigger community than HC and you cannot see any nightmare or hell games if you haven't completed these difficulties, you will only see normal games and almost everyone who is not a new player or is in a trade game is playing hell difficulty. There is one realm called international that brings both US and EU players together.
