    Heya guys,

My name is Vincent, I'm from the Netherlands and occupied as student.
I've been playing Diablo II on and off ever since it came out. I haven't much time to play at the moment due to exams, but I am eager to play for the first time on a private D2 server.
I'm active as operator and forum mod on a private HC community, which has been dying out since D3 came out. Well it's not exactly dead, but most have turned to the dark D3 side.
My heart goes out to HC and I hope there are some active HC players in here. I'll probably be making an Assassin first, as that's the char I was making on the last Bnet ladder before real life took it all away from me.

I was wondering if there are any popular chat channels which I should know about.

Thanks for reading and hope to play and die with you guys soon!

hi, no there arent any private chat room as far as i know, people just join main chat channel. Make sure you download server's patch before playing, there are a few changes compared to bnet classic.

Alright, thanks for the heads up. Now I have my D2 client set up to automatically join a private channel where I used to hang out, so I don't know what is the main chat channel of this server. Could you point me in the right direction? And the patch you're talking about, is it the ''Realm Patch'' which is advertised on the EuropeBattle.Net website? Assuming it is, how do I install?

Just copy (overwrite) it in your D2 folder. Previously, make a backup of your d2 patch somewhere else, if you want it saved. There are quite a few useful posts in the Help Desk section, stickies + others. Make sure you read them, if you run into any kind of trouble. you'll likely find an answer there.

@gix : happy to help, taking the fact that i mostly browse forum from work, its a way to waste time :).
@beastbad1368 : most of us play LOD but there are some players that play classic too. Most popular is Lod Expansion on softcore.

Due to not being so fond of the use of (map)hacks on this server I have decided to go back to regular Battle.net. Only problem is that I don't know how to connect to the original servers anymore. I have reinstalled my D2 and LoD, but still connect to your server. Could anyone help me out here?

I do wish to mention that this parting ways is one on friendly terms. I have enjoyed playing on the servers, even though it wasn't much, and I very much appreciate the gracious help that has been offered in here.

    Sorry to see you go.
The server change is made in the registry files btw, try using a gateway editor to change it. We have one here, here, and in case you run mac another one here.
We hope to see you back some time in the future.
    Good luck and have fun.
