Solved i cant create game or join a game

    hello there ,

    please advise me for this error,
    login with my acount but cant create or join game server.....

    i have a pc with windows 98se

    thnx a lot!!!

    Hello

    You have to install the server patch as instructed here: http://europebattle.net/d2/connect and make sure to run the game through our custom launcher not from a regular d2 loader.
    Our server patch is mandatory to create/join games.

    By the way your friend VampireLord told me ingame that you have this pc setup for d2 alone, in this case I would suggest you to install and use windows xp as windows 98se is really old and outdated.

    Also when requesting for help include all details, in this case you didn't said that your error is ".dll file expect a newer version of windows upgrade your windows version ." which in this case it means you will need to install windows xp or newer to run the game. If your computer supports windows 98 then it will support xp too. I didn't even knew there are still people using win 98, that's really odd.

    Having a pc with windows 98 and win XP only cap the pc performance, its not recommended at all, even for playing old games such as d2(i have brutal doom and ff7 installed also, work fine on w7 and they are older than d2) , there are some options to make good compatibility mode : graphics etc

    Just an advice :)
    PD: In the case you have a really really old pc, just what Gix said, install a xp sp3

    #1. Install The Realm Patch or Fresh D2 Install + EuropeBattleNET Installer ( U can download it from http://d2.rocks/tools/EuropeBattleInstaller.exe !! Without him u can't create or join.. :)

    #2. Win98 is fine, D2 got minimal reqs.. u can play it without any problems on PC with Pentium III with less than 800 Mhz Processor and 64MB Ram .. :)
