Hi, i installed game, downloaded patch and everything needed for server, but when i try to make game this happens
    http://picpaste.com/untitled-clT9bLEd.bmp
I've seen this topic maybe year ago, and it was said that the person who posted it had old windows xp and that installing windows 7 would help. Back then when i saw that thread and tried to solve it according to your suggestion, i installed windows 7 but this window http://picpaste.com/untitled-clT9bLEd.bmp continued to appear and game wouldn't start in windows 7 either. I also tried downloading and installing some windows xp which i considered to be newer version but it was all the same.
Could it be that I need some sort of program maybe? I have very old computer pentium 4 amd athlon (tm) xp 2200+ 1.79 ghz, 1.00 bg of ram

Sure it is not about your Win XP. I use it too and no problem. Antivirus turned off?

Could be the old cpu architecture itself considering that's some really old CPU, however we only had one or two players reporting this error and it has been fixed by replacing some broken windows xp build or installing windows7 instead. You haven't mentioned what service pack are you running on (you could try installing Service Pack3 if you don't have it yet) but I would try to reinstall Windows7 once more and see if anything changes but use a different download source in case you don't already own a legit key. Additionally, I'd recommend you to install the usual stuff that most applications require nowdays: netframework 3.5/4.5+ and C++ redistributables 2005, 2010, 2012, 2015

@Nopik, @zguby this isn't related to any of the known common game errors, it's some rare isolated problem and most likely the reason it's either his old (really old) computer or the OS build.

@kll, try sending me the err_GameGuard.log and GameGuard.log files inside your game folder. I'll try and see if they offer us any useful information.

yes antivirus is turned off, and also firewall. i have followed install guide properly i played this game on this server before, but on another computer which is more advanced, and there i have done everything the same way as i do now and it would work there, unlike here on this old computer. I run it as administrator, but it still doesn't change anything. I've read that thread and i am familliar with those problems, but my problem is different, one small box with tda game guard appears http://picpaste.com/untitled-clT9bLEd.bmp
and nothing appart from that happens. thanks for help though.

@Gix hello, it is service pack 3 win xp professional version 2002. I looked in my folder but there were no files err_GameGuard.log and GameGuard.log inside game folder, idk why. I will try installing those programs you mentioned.

Ok, so i have upgraded my windows xp to newer version and tda gameguard problem was same. Then i installed windows 7 and installed diablo 2 and everything necessary for connecting, but even on windows 7 tda gameguard problem continues. I have also installed those netframeworks and c+ redistributables @Gix has mentioned. I looked in my d2 folder and i dont have any err_gameguard.log and gameguard.log files. Anyone has some suggestion maybe?
