@mario31, let me clear up some things for you even though @Quinneczech and @TimmyDeezNuts already gave great answers.
A max defense shako worths about ohm in our realm, while in the official server it used to worth max ist (below 141 was worth pul or 15 pgems) and that was years ago when the game was much more popular so it was never a hard to find this item at all. Sure, some non-maxed defense items you mentioned could definetly be traded for smaller runes too but since majority of players are so friendly in here, those are usually given away for free just because it doesn't take an eternity to find them. Even more, pgems are an easy way of getting runes here as a beginner and thousands of them are traded daily.
Items you've mentioned actually have more value in here than on bnet, however let's not forget that we are not bnet but a blizzlike server using an unique patch that obviously works best for us and most likely that's why you started playing here in the first place so expecting a higher value it's a bit unrealistic for items that are not hard to be found.
Considering you took a long break and you had to start over, I can understand you want to get ahead of other people with less effort and while grinding is pretty fast in here this doesn't mean that everyone has to start from scratch or drops need to be completly modified because you've returned, that's a bit of a selfish thinking and that's definetly not something that can be decided through an unofficial poll. Imagine if we would do that for every single player taking a break and returning a year or two later.
