    Okay, straight to the point.
My friend can't join the battlenet realm.
    What I know is:
    -He has Window 64-Bit
-He installed the patch properly because he could join my game via hamachi without any problems
-He can start multiplayer/singleplayer games, it just crashes when he hits "Battle Net"
-Loader doesn't work, pops with message "We have a big error"
-Windowed mode, compatibility mode etc. doesn't work and shouldn't be an issue because he can play elsewhere than the battle net.

I don't have the answer however there have been several similar threads in this help forum. Perhaps one of them has your solution.

Do a reinstall of d2 make sure you update it to 1.13c once installed go to website and download the zip file which has all you need inside overwrite the patch so you have out custom then make sure your using the eurobattle loader which is inside the folder you downloaded that should work and if you have gateway editor already make sure you have this info
    Name EuropeBattle.Net
    Zone 0
    Ip d2.europebattle.net

You should be good to go sometimes if you had other mods in your folder or been using other problem can mess up your diablo 2 folder give it a try let me know good luck :)

Well, try uninstalling and deleting all d2 clients/mods from his pc, then check out the registry files and delete anything related to blizzard. Re-install the game on a different partition than before and take things step by step. No need to apply compatibility mode so first time try it on the default mode and start as an administrator. I have windows 64bit myself and there is no problem. PS: Is it windows7 64bit or XP ?
