i downloaded the new patch and i cant figure out how to apply it to my old diablo 2 folders. I didnt find a new LODpatch_113c or diablo II realm installer. From the new patch folders i created a desktop shortcut and put it to run as admin and window mode, and all i get is the new gamegaurd character on my screen but no game.

Hey, did you try running it on compability mode ? If not, try using windows xp sp2 and run as admin, perhaps this will work for you.

@xXItzSevenXx, the LODpatch_113c is the patch released by Blizzard in order to patch your game to the 1.13c version so it's not reated to our server. That only has to be installed once, right after you installed Diablo II.

As for the new server patch simply visit the website and download the installer http://usabattle.net/downloads/UsaBattleInstaller.exe ; Run it > Browse to your Diablo 2 folder > Install. (make sure you have diablo2 closed during this step)
The installer will automatically create a desktop icon that you can run.

Ok, so what windows are you running and tell me if it is Windows Defender who is blocking your downloads.

The sever patch itself is a loader that allows you to run as many windows as you want so I can't see why you had to download it a second time to get the same files you already had.
When asking for help please include as much information as possible in order to help us understand what is wrong. You haven't specified your OS, neither the antivirus you are using and your first post doesn't mention any of that.

I would suggest you read the connect guide from the website and apply what it says there. You might need to add your Diablo2 folder to antivirus exceptions list, even if it's turned on some antiviruses still perform real time checks and they could potentially block it, besides the fact that for example bitdefender antivirus control is also blocking some false-positive files depending on the security level you set. (most antiviruses warn their users nowdays that a higher security level will include false positives - Screenshot by Lightshot)

Well by the looks of it I think you still have anti-virus active or perhaps you have not checked the box at firewall for Diablo. Go to firewall and make sure you check the box, and if that is okay, make sure you relook all anti-virus programs you have installed on your computer (including Windows defender). By the way, it is possible to disable them from starting up but that still does not mean that they cannot run and still be active as .exe

Send me your skype id (if you don't have one just create an account) and I'll assist you remotely.

PS: I would use any free antivirus available on internet which are a hundred times better than the crappy Windows Defender.

I'm on Win 7 64-bit too. Just freshly reinstalled the game because I was experiencing alot of errors/timeouts/crashes and that's what I did to make it work properly, in 10 steps:
    1. Install game & Expansion pack (preferably find an installation that's not an archive, but a copy of the 4 original CDs instead)
    2. Download patch 1.13c and update the game - [Patch 1.13c LINK]
    3. Download Realm patch - [Executable LINK] or [Archive LINK]
    4. Extract and replace files in the main game folder (example: D:\GAMES\Diablo II)
    5. After step 4. find and left click "EuropeBattle Gateway.reg" file -> YES -> OK
    6. Right click EuropeBattle.exe & Loader.exe & Game.exe -> Compatibility -> Set to Win XP SP2 -> Check Run as Admin -> Apply & OK
    7. Add game to exclusions in your anti-virus (in my case: Avast > Settings > General > Exclusions > Browse > Add) NOTE: OP can skip this step since he disabled the anti-virus
    8. Open My Computer > System Properties (pic) > System Protection > Advanced > Performance > Data Execution Prevention > Add Diablo 2 .exe files
    9. Go to your Windows Firewall > Allow a program or a feature > Check Diablo 2 / if it's not on the list > Allow another program (at the bottom) > Browse & Add Diablo 2 files
    10. If after all steps only GameGuard logo appears and game doesn't start, take TDAgg3.dll from the Realm Patch archive and copy/paste/replace it again in the main game folder. You might also have to run the video test (D2VidTst) from the main game folder.

NOTE: Don't use 'Diablo 2.exe' to start the game, use the other .exe's instead.

Even if OP already solved his problem, I decided to reply here anyway, for other players in the future. All of that stuff is scattered around the forums, in the installation guides and in the .rar's as .txt guide files. I just used all of that information, tested it and gathered it in a step by step format.

    Cheers.

    Thanks for sharing [MENTION=24643]Botlike[/MENTION]

As I have always said, a fresh reinstall usually fixes most of the weird issues of this game. Some steps you mentioned are optional depending on the user pc and the settings he has as usually most of the players can run the game without having to set their DEP, compatibility or AV exceptions list but we made sure to include the fixes of the most common game errors into a sticky thread.
