Our servers are hosted in both US and EU servers but we only use one realm that brings everyone together so depending on your location and the peering of your internet provider your ping could be lower or higher. You don't need to do any special settings except those that allow you to join our server and then it will automatically detect where are you playing from and will use the closest server to your location. Keep in mind, private servers don't use hundreds of additional servers all around the globe like most official gameservers do so chances that a private server will be hosted just a few miles away from you or in the same city are slim. You do not need a working CD key to play but please don't ask for one here as we do not support piracy.

@facuacdc, the in-game /fps command will never be accurate and we've been through this already, imo this command should never existed in this game in the first place because most people have no idea how it works. That's not a legit ping, never was, it varies a lot and goes side by side with your frames rate and this is why even in single player your /fps ping will jump up to double digits values when in theory it should be 0 all the time so those values will fluctuate a lot mainly depending on your in-game actions and secondly depending on your network connectivity. Correct ping values can only be obtain through monitoring tools such as mtr or pinging the server machine directly.
