Solved Best program for editting d2hackmap.cfg ??

I have been using plain old Notepad to edit the d2hackmap.cfg file and at least half of the file is just complete nonsense gibberish characters, making it a lot more difficult for me to get a sense of what I am looking at or find what I'm looking for in it - is there a better program for making alterations to it? Or is Notepad as good as it gets?

 

No program will fix this. I think it is the chinese .cfg file that has been translated somehow. This link can help you edit.
The "ItemInfo_ENG.txt" gives you the item codes

 

I personally used notepad, but first I searched for a different .cfg file, because the one that came with the program was mostly written in chinese gibberish like in your case.

 

Hi there. Originally this maphack is Chinese, so unless you can read in Chinese, you shouldn't bother changing programs. Also, please see this link for additional information.
