Both D2 and D2R are still running at 25 FPS but the layer on top (in our case D2GL) runs at an unlocked frame rate similar to how D2R does it,...

Is the Sting Maphack loading in game or not @ameth? If it does, then you're all good.
You should think that the files are updated for a reason; that's how patch updates work in any game or application. No reason to go too technical...
It's just for internal statistics, "Location" is the field that will show up on your profile if you wanted to.
