Guide BvC ( PvP Barbarian ) Build

BvC Build ( Barbarian versus Casters )


Introduction

Hello , i would like to present you this guide .
I will not make a long introduction as many guides
Note that this is a strictly PVP Barbarian Guide and it's a bit different , it's not based on items like Windowmaker , Fortitude
Also the build does not contain a clear distinct between Fair PVP and Not Fair PVP

What is a BvC

Well , most people think that is a build that can kill only casters . It's not , it's one of the most powerfull PvP builds in D2 .
BvC it's basicly a Barbarian that don't beneficiate of Max Block but in front of that it use DR ( Damage Reduced ).

Why BvC instead of BvA

BvC - the most common assembly is a barbarian wich occurs more frequently than a BvA
- most people are impressed more by a high-speed duel against casters than a boring BvA

Advantages and disadvantages of a BvC

Advantages :

- High ammount of health due to innate skill Battle Orders
- Sufficiently mobile not only becouse of the teleport ( enigma , tm ) but also of the relatively high running speed
- Low requirements FCR
- Versatile enough ,can lead a duel with almost any character
- Has quite high damage , so you can kill some of the characters from 2-3 WW
- Very useful in team
- In the right hands can kill any oponent

Disatvantages :

- Extremly expensive and dependent character of gear
- A rather complicated characted in the game plan but is reduced to nothing , since kill comes with experience
- There are some unpleasent moments associated to WW
- Practically incompatible with lags and weak Internet
- Dependent on the skill of the game
- Very little mana

There is a fairy extensive section for a BvC , so a separate version of the equipment will be provided for all the oponents
Note that there are other pro and con oppinions , so ill just post mine

1) Necromancer Bonner and Hammerdin

Helm - Coronet 2 barb 10 fhr 3 bo 30 + hp with shael rune
Armor - Enigma or Barbarian Templar's Might
Belt - Arahnid
Gloves - Trang Oul's Gloves
Boots - Gore Rider
Amulet - Highlord
Rings - Ravenfrost + Rare ( Fcr ++ / Or 90+ar 70+ mana

* Instead of the coronet , you can use another helm 2 barb / 20 fcr / 30 frw , is a option to hit the 63 % fcr break or just change the gloves to Dracul's Grasp

2) Wind Druids

Helm - Crown of Ages with 2x Ber
Armor - Enigma/Barbarian Templar's Might
Weapon 1 - Grief BA
Weapon 2 - Beast BA
Belt - Verdungo
Gloves - Trang-Ouls's gloves
Boots - Gore RIder
Amulet - 2 barb 20 fcr +mana
Rings - Ravenfrost + rare/crafter 90+ar / xx life leech / life xx / mana xx

*Instead of Gore Rider , Craft boots frw +fhr+life leech +hp
+ higher life leech
+hp
- Lose Open Wounds / Crushing blow

3) Assasin Traps/ Hybrid

Helm : 2 barb / 20 fcr / 30 frw / Light res - With Shael rune
Armor - Enigma / TM
Weapon 1 - Grief BA
Weapon 2 - Beast BA
Belt - Thundergods
Gloves - TO
Boots - rare/crafted frw 30 +fhr+light res
Amulet - Highlords Wrath
Rings - 2x rare fcr+ar+life ++

4) Fire Sorceress ES/VITA

Helm : 2 barb / 20 fcr / 30 frw / - Jew FHR + +
Armor - Enigma / TM
Weapon 1 - Grief BA
Weapon 2 - Beast BA
Belt - fhr/hp/+++
Boots - Hotspur
Gloves - TO Gloves
Amulet - Highlords Wrath
Rings - 2x rare fcr+ar+life ++

5) Light Sorceress ES/VITA

Helm : 2 barb / 20 fcr / 30 frw / Light res - With Shael rune
Armor - Enigma / TM
Weapon 1 - Grief BA
Weapon 2 - Beast BA
Belt - Thundergods
Gloves - TO
Boots - rare/crafted frw 30 +fhr+light res
Amulet - Highlords Wrath
Rings - rare fcr+ar+life ++ / Ravenfrost


6) Cold Sorceress ES/VITA

Helm : Crown of Ages ( THUL runes or jewels cold res +++ )
Armor - Enigma / TM
Weapon 1 - Grief BA
Weapon 2 - Beast BA
Belt - Thundergods
Gloves - TO
Boots - rare/crafted frw 30 +fhr+cold res
Amulet - 2barb/20fcr +++cold res
Rings - 2x Raven Frost

*Instead of the CoA , Kira with Thul rune
+More resists
- Lose DMG red , Fhr

7) Mellee chars / Bow Amazon

Helm : Coa 2x ber
Armor - Enigma / TM
Weapon 1 - Grief BA
Weapon 2 - Doom BA
Belt - Verdungo
Gloves - TO
Boots - Gore Rider
Amulet - 2barb/20fcr +++cold res
Rings - 2x Raven Frost

Inventary and Swap

Inventary

Also you can use grand charms 9-10/xx/40+hp
As the most duels will be held versus casters , make sure that you get arroung 10.000 AR

Swap
2x Heart of the oak or Cta x/3+/x

Make sure that you have enough str for coa in swap ( You can use 2x Javelins + 3 warieces and put some FAL in them )


PVP Tactics

Here i have just 1 tactic that i used all the time , there are many others , but this is the most usefull in my opinion

Triangle-WW

Verry strong tehnique against casters , it's basicly a small ww in form of triangle on the enemy
It goes like this : leap to stun them , teleport in front of them then chain a small ww in form of triangle
Note that is verry difficult for the opponent to evade from your attack

i'd post in disadvantages that it's one of the most ping dependent builds.

 

It is yes , as i mentioned is a build that can't be used with ping
Anyway it's a fun char

 

good guide for someone whos just about to make a barb for the first time and see how it goes, some useful information but mostly super outdated and flawed, didnt read everything but skilling and item choices are mostly outdated... current techniques and strategies were not mentioned and weeell bunch of other things I dont want to point out
also considering its 2017 you could take a look around on the interneTz (ie d2jsp-guides ---> yes its not a crime to read uptodate guides even if they are not on this forum and implant into this realm's niche)
you could have focused on unique items such as griffon's (replacing rare circlets that are hard to obtain considering there are only a few good ones floating around iirc) so that it becomes a budget char everyone can make

 

on this server grandfathers are much better than beast and grief

 

Why 1 in berserk?
