Solved Cannot use Staff to complete Act 2

I transmuted the staff and amulet in a previous game. It instantly created the full staff, which I didn't think much of until now. It appears the game thinks I haven't created the staff, so I cannot open the orifice's interface.
When I put the staff in the cube for the first time after viewing the quest list, it does the animation as if creating the staff, but the quest list does not change. It does not make the animation again until I view the quest list.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

It worked... I am not sure how I created this in a different difficulty since I should only be doable once per difficulty and I know I did it in normal... Oh well, glad it worked, thanks!
